How to quickly learn great prose. The best texts in prose for memorizing (middle school age)

If a person hears: “We must quickly learn the text!”, Images of a school or institute come to mind. After all, when people get education, they have to learn a lot of information that is useful and not very good. But sometimes it’s not only for schoolchildren and students to learn the text quickly. Let's talk about the methods of assimilation and long-term storage of information.

There are few people who would remember “wonderful school days” with aspiration, especially when it comes to memorizing poems by A. S. Pushkin. Therefore, adults are allergic to his works. Cramming is violence against the body and spirit of a person, but you cannot refuse her effectiveness, but she does not always work and not with everyone. How can I replace cramming?

  • The memory does not work in a noisy environment. If a TV, a tape recorder is working on the student’s ear, and friends are socializing on social networks, then in such an environment it’s hard to learn something, remember your own name is problematic.
  • Understanding is the main thing. If words do not reach consciousness, then no matter how classic and wonderful the text may be, a person will not remember it, and the forces will go into the void.
  • After the main layer of meaning has been assimilated, the text is divided into parts and each part is studied separately, then these “flaps” are sewn together.
  • The next step is to find a listener and tell him the learned material.
  • Alternate rest and work modes in order not to go crazy and increase efficiency.

A person remembers better if he understands. But sometimes this method does not work. Because a girl or a guy learns the names of human bones in Latin, and here you can’t do without cramming without an old-fashioned way.

How to learn a lot of text: image method

Understanding does not always help, and history knows cases where this method simply does not work. Let us turn to other ways to remember what we read. There is a well-known example when mnemonists memorized a sequence of cards going in a deck. How did they do it? Very simple - they came up with a story that would link the order of the cards in the deck.

How to quickly learn the text?

Mnemonist - a person who is able to memorize a huge amount of information using special techniques

Back to the bones. Suppose a person teaches the structure of the human body in Latin in detail. Let him imagine that the patient came to the doctor, and the doctor arranges for the patient a detailed examination. It is no coincidence that the bones in Latin fall into the plot of history.

How to quickly memorize text: cheat sheet method

One cannot always rely on imagination. If you recall the folk wisdom (what is written with a pen, not cut down with an ax), then you can use paper and pen or keyboard and screen. A person must make notes. Are there any rules? Yes, there they are.

January 23, 2014

Good afternoon dear friends! When I was preparing for this post, it turned out that there are much more areas in which you need to quickly memorize something than I expected, so I divided the article into two parts. Who knows, maybe a third will appear.

The topic is actually very interesting. I became interested in experiments with memory in high school, when I was already actively working on the Internet, and I did not have much time to study subjects. Having stumbled upon (literally) hundreds of books on the Internet, I already eliminated any slag like “How to develop super-memory in a day” or “A quick way to learn a school course in one week” by name. Leaving 8-10 pieces, I began to study them, writing out especially valuable thoughts and practical exercises for memorizing by heart.

For me, practice is very important, because in theory you can really do anything, but to put it into practice is quite problematic. Therefore, I try to check any advice and recommendations on my own skin. It turns out quite interesting, and a lot of new skills are gaining.

I try to judge as objectively as possible, but this does not mean that I announce the ultimate truth. I recommend only what helped me, and I hope it will also help you.

Fundamental principles

There are basic principles that will help your brain remember information much more effectively. It doesn't matter if you want to know how to quickly learn a poemor just interested in ways to remember.

  1. Maximum concentration;
  2. Physical state;
  3. The brightness of the images;
  4. Motivation;
  5. Understanding;

Already simply from the names you can find out up to 90% of the whole essence of each principle, however, let's look at each item in more detail.

When memorizing, do not be distracted.

It seems to me that any person can confirm that the more focused on the task, the faster you can get the result. There are even many techniques that can improve this process, but we will talk about this in the following articles, if you do not want to miss, subscribe (form at the bottom of the article).

Our brain is designed in such a way that the less tasks we perform, the more effective the result will be. Not for nothing that our head is often compared with a computer. By limiting the number of tasks performed to one or two, you can get a truly incredible result. It will be best to find a quiet room where no one will distract you, turn off all irritants and start to engage.

Respiratory techniques and personal settings will also help to concentrate quickly. Take 10 deep breaths during which you repeat to yourself something like “I can learn everything, quickly and without stress.” As soon as you have made your last exhalation, immediately begin to memorize the necessary material.

Concentration will help you in many areas of life. I already spoke about this in the article "". This is a very valuable skill that needs to be constantly trained.

Have a good rest.

If you feel unwell, have a headache or want to sleep badly, then you are unlikely to be able to quickly learn the material. Firstly, you will be constantly distracted by your sores, and this already contradicts the first principle. Secondly, ailments affect the overall performance of the body. So, if you want to be productively engaged in mental activity, you will have to get rid of these problems.

In most cases, normal sleep will help. It will allow your body to relax, the brain to recover a little and you can start learning with a full supply of strength. As far as I remember, this advice was given by one of the authors of books to students' questions about how to quickly learn English (German, Italian, French) or some language there. Half an hour's sleep will allow you to increase efficiency by 2-3 times. As a result, you can do much more in less time.

Come up with vivid images.

We remember what seems unusual to us and, as a rule, lose sight of what we are used to seeing every day. Can you remember what colors the traffic lights had today along the route that you move daily? Unlikely. But if you saw a tiger playing with a huge ball on the way to work / study, you would surely remember this for life. So why not take advantage of this feature of our brain for your own benefit?

Let's say you wondered how to quickly learn the Borodino verse. As we know, this poem literally consists of vivid images and actions. This greatly simplifies our task. Just while reading, try to most vividly imagine the pictures that Lermontov describes. Only this exercise will increase the efficiency of memorization at times, but imagine what will happen if you use all the principles?

You must understand why you need to learn this material.

The main problem of schoolchildren and students is that they do not understand what they are learning at all. That is why many are able to read one line 10 times and not remember anything. If a person is completely sure of the need for the material being studied, then he will be able to master it simply by running his eyes. For example, if you were offered to quickly learn chords or instructions for a million dollars, then you would probably be able to do this almost instantly.

The secret is that motivation really exists. And always. A poem can be taught simply in order to develop memory or become familiar with art. You can learn Japanese to watch the anime in the original or to quietly leave for this eastern country. And you need to memorize definitions for better mastery of the subject or for the successful passing of the exam. It is only important to find motivation and really believe in it. This is not difficult to do.

You must understand the information you are learning.

The material, which the aliens probably composed, will be taught for a very long time. Yes, and you will probably forget it in a few hours. There is a real relationship between understanding and speed of memorization. Therefore, before memorizing the definition, try to get a good understanding of what you are reading about. Then maybe you don’t have to look for information about how to learn quicklysome information.

I will begin, perhaps, with the most widespread use of quick memorization - a poem. Personally, I really love poetry (I remember I even occupied the 3rd place in the field in the Olympiad), but I always had problems with memorizing them. School - this was the first place where I began to be interested in as you can quickly learn a verse. I remember it was a poem by Pushkin, "Heavens the sky in darkness ...".

In general, in any field, in addition to the fundamental principles, there are "chips", the use of which allows achieving weighted results in memorization by heart. Poems in literature are no exception. I recommend using the technique that I used myself.

  1. Read the poem several times, delve into its meaning, feel its essence. This is very important, do you remember the fifth principle? From the point of view of aesthetics, this is also very important, since you will gain something more than the top five in literature, you can enjoy really great words, and it costs a lot.
  2. After that, rewrite the work on a piece of paper. Be sure to do it with a pen. You can show imagination and somehow embellish the lines. Not in the sense of changing the words, but in the sense of drawing some kind of drawing into a theme or depicting an exquisite capital letter. Imagine writing this poem yourself.
  3. Try to sing a motive. Have you ever noticed that songs are remembered very simply. Sometimes it’s enough to listen 1-2 times to remember 90% of the song. It's all about melody. As a rule, verses also have their own melody, but it is not so pronounced. Create your own motive and start humming a poem. This will allow you to remember it even more.
  4. Start learning fast. That is, read the stanza once and try to retell it. Even if you don’t remember a word, don’t spy for at least a minute. Make your brains work. This will allow you to develop powerful neural connections, and you will remember these words for a much longer period.
  5. Do not try to repeat all the time, it is better to learn each quatrain separately, and then try to repeat the whole poem completely. Yes, it is more difficult, but the result is achieved faster and lasts longer.
  6. To understand how to quickly learn literature, work with the author’s biography. Yes, it will take you more time (irony), but you will better understand the subject and be able to show truly high-quality knowledge.
  7. Repeat the verse regularly. It’s better to learn a little, but every day, than all at once and in one evening. You can spend a little more time on the first day and try to remember as much as possible, and then repeat the poem 2-3 times a day. Together, this will take less time, and it will be much easier for you.

With fables it’s even easier, because the images are used simple and clear, and they are easier to remember, so it’s not a big deal.

Knowledge of a foreign language has great prospects, so its study now is gaining simply enormous volumes. Almost everyone now has the opportunity to get an education, but some have been learning the language for years, and some are fluent in a few months. What's the secret?

The two main ingredients of a recipe for success are practice and consistency. If everything is clear with the first points (the more often and regularly you study, the better you speak a foreign language), then you will have to deal with the second in more detail. The more complete the incoming information and the more diverse it is, the better the material is absorbed. In the case of a foreign language, this is a great chance to quickly master the necessary material.

Reading, writing, listening, talking are the four areas in which you have to develop. If you combine them all together, the effect will be simply unimaginable. Of course, if you do not know the language at all, then first you will need to learn the alphabet, basic words and irregular verbs, and only then proceed to systematic studies, although you can start talking immediately.

  1. Read at least one page of text in a foreign language daily. Try not to spy on the dictionary. Such advice is given to everyone who wants to know how to learn english quickly and easily. I advise you to read books according to the method of Ilya Frank. It is advisable to do this out loud. They can easily be found on the Internet.
  2. Set yourself the bar in the minimum number of words. It doesn’t matter if you are going to learn Chinese, French or German. Let's say it will be 5 words a day. In a year you will know 1780 words, and this is enough to speak normally with native speakers. The most important thing here is regularity, do not pause even on the busiest days. Moreover, learning five words is a matter of ten minutes. A great help can be the LinguoLeo service.
  3. Download audio lessons and start practicing them. You can not only remember stable constructions, but also understand how to pronounce a particular word correctly. This is important if a foreign language is needed for communication.
  4. Be sure to buy a book on grammar, learn the rules and do exercises. Of course, if you do not plan to seriously master the language, you are unlikely to need it, but grammar will allow you to better understand the structure and become truly educated. In addition, it will be easier for you to express your thoughts yourself.

By the way, to quickly learn English words do not try to memorize them. Better imagine what the word looks like (for example, apple - apple) and say the English name out loud. So you remember the word much faster, and you can use it without rummaging in your memory. And to understand how to quickly learn English verbs - search the Internet for songs. They are not so few, and they memorize faster.

Of course, the tips above were given in general terms so that you can understand the basic principles and ways of memorizing quickly. In more specifically, I will cover the main areas of application of quick memorization, which are likely to be useful to you. Do not forget to subscribe to updates. Till!

Chapter II

My mommy

I had a mother, affectionate, kind, sweet. My mother and I lived in a small house on the banks of the Volga. The house was so clean and bright, and from the windows of our apartment one could see a wide, beautiful Volga, and huge two-story ships, and barges, and a pier on the shore, and crowds of people walking out at certain hours on this pier to meet the coming ships ... And mom and I went there, only rarely, very rarely: mom gave lessons in our city, and she could not walk with me as often as I would like. Mommy said:

Wait, Lenusha, I’ll save up money and pump you along the Volga from our Rybinsk right up to Astrakhan itself! That's when we walk around enough.
I was happy and waiting for spring.
By spring, mommy had saved a little money, and we decided to fulfill our idea with the very first warm days.
  - That's as soon as the Volga is cleared of ice, we will roll! - said mom, gently stroking my head.
But when the ice broke, she caught a cold and began to cough. The ice passed, the Volga cleared, and Mom all coughed and coughed endlessly. She once became thin and transparent, like wax, and all sat by the window, looked at the Volga and said:
  - A cough will pass, I’ll recover a little, and we will ride with you to Astrakhan, Lenush!
But the cough and cold did not go away; the summer was wet and cold this year, and mom became thinner, paler and more transparent every day.
Autumn has come. September came up. Over the Volga stretched long strings of cranes flying to warm countries. Mommy no longer sat by the window in the living room, but lay on the bed and trembled all the time from the cold, while she herself was hot as fire.
Once she called me to her and said:
  - Listen, Lenusha. Your mother will soon leave you forever ... But you do not grieve, dear. I will always look at you from heaven and I will rejoice at the good deeds of my girl, and ...
I did not let her finish and burst into tears. And mother cried as well, and her eyes became sad, sad, just like that of the angel whom I saw in a large image in our church.
Having calmed down a bit, mommy spoke again:
“I feel that the Lord will soon take me to Him, and may His holy will be done!” Be smart without a mother, pray to God and remember me ... You will go to live with your uncle, my brother who lives in St. Petersburg ... I wrote to him about you and asked to shelter an orphan ...
Something painfully pained at the word "orphan" squeezed my throat ...
I sobbed, cried and hid in my mother’s bed. Maryushka came (a cook who lived with us for nine whole years, from the very year I was born, and who loved my mother and me without memory) and took me to her, saying that "mother needs peace."
All in tears, I fell asleep that night on Maryushkina’s bed, and in the morning ... Ah, what happened in the morning! ..
I woke up very early, it seems, at six o’clock, and I wanted to run straight to my mother.
At that moment Maryushka came in and said:
  - Pray to God, Helen: God took your mother to her. Your mom died.
  - Mom died! - as I repeated the echo.
And suddenly I felt so cold, cold! Then my head rustled, and the whole room, and Maryushka, and the ceiling, and the table, and chairs - everything turned upside down and spun in my eyes, and I no longer remember what happened to me after this. It seems I fell to the floor without feelings ...
I woke up when my mother was already lying in a large white box, in a white dress, with a white wreath on her head. An old gray priest read prayers, singers sang, and Maryushka prayed at the threshold of the bedroom. Some old women came and also prayed, then looked at me with regret, shook their heads and grumbled something with toothless mouths ...
  - Orphan! Round orphan! - also shaking her head and looking at me pityingly, said Maryushka and cried. The old women cried ...
On the third day, Maryushka led me to the white box in which mommy was lying, and ordered me to kiss mommy’s hand. Then the priest blessed mommy, the singers sang something very sad; some men came up, closed the white box and carried it out of our house ...
I cried loudly. But then the old ladies I already knew arrived in time, saying that they’re carrying their mommy to bury and that they don’t need to cry, but to pray.
They brought the white box to the church, we defended the mass, and then some people came up again, picked up the box and carried it to the cemetery. A deep black hole had already been dug there, where Mom’s coffin was lowered. Then they threw a hole in the ground, put a white cross over it, and Maryushka led me home.
On the way, she told me that in the evening she would take me to the station, put me on a train and send me to uncle in Petersburg.
“I don’t want to visit my uncle,” I said gloomily, “I don’t know any uncle and am afraid to go to him!”
But Maryushka said that it’s a shame to say such a thing to a big girl, that mommy hears it and that she is hurt from my words.
Then I became quiet and began to recall the face of my uncle.
I never saw my uncle in St. Petersburg, but in his mommy’s album was his portrait. He was depicted on it in a gold embroidered uniform, with many orders and with a star on his chest. He had a very important look, and I was involuntarily afraid of him.
After lunch, which I barely touched, Maryushka put all my dresses and linen in an old suitcase, watered me tea, and drove me to the station.

  Chapter xxi
To the sound of the wind and the whistling of a blizzard

The wind whistled, squealed, groaned and hummed in different ways. Now with a mournful thin voice, then with a rough bass rumble, he sang his battle song. Lanterns blinked slightly through the huge white flakes of snow, pouring plentifully on the sidewalks, the street, on carriages, horses and passers-by. And I walked on and on, on and on ...
  Nyurochka told me:
“First you have to go along a long big street with such tall houses and luxurious shops, then turn right, then left, then right again and left again, and everything is right there, right to the very end - to our house. You will recognize him right away. He’s near the cemetery, there’s still a white church ... so beautiful. "
I did so. Everything went straight, as it seemed to me, along a long and wide street, but I did not see either tall houses or luxury shops. Everything was blocked from my eyes by a white, as a shroud, living friable wall silently falling in huge flakes of snow. I turned right, then left, then right again, doing everything exactly as Nyurochka told me - and everything went, went, went on without end.
The wind mercilessly ruffled the floors of my burnusik, piercing me through the cold. Snow flakes beat in the face. Now I was already far from the speed as before. My legs seemed to be filled with lead from fatigue, my whole body trembled from the cold, my hands were numb, and I barely moved my fingers. Turning almost right and left for the fifth time, I now went along a straight path. Quietly, slightly flickering lights of lanterns came across to me less and less ... The noise from riding horses and carriages on the streets had considerably subsided, and the path along which I walked seemed to me deaf and deserted.
Finally, the snow began to thin; huge flakes did not fall so often now. Dahl cleared up a little, but instead, there was such a thick twilight around me that I could barely distinguish the road.
Now, no driving noise, no voices, no cheering exclamations were heard around me.
What a silence! What a dead silence! ..
  But what is it?
My eyes, already accustomed to the darkness, now discern the environment. Lord, where am I?
No houses, no streets, no crews, no pedestrians. Before me is an endless, huge snowy space ... Some forgotten buildings on the edges of the road ... Some kind of fences, and in front of something black, huge. It must be a park or a forest - I don’t know.
I turned back ... Behind me, lights flicker ... lights ... lights ... How many of them! Without an end ... without an account!
“Lord, this is a city!” City of course! I exclaim. - And I went to the outskirts ...
Nyurochka said that they live on the outskirts. Yes of course! What darkens in the distance is the cemetery! There is a church, and, shortly, their house! Everything, everything turned out as she said. And I was scared! That's silly!
And with joyful animation, I again briskly strode forward.
  But it was not there!
My legs now barely obeyed me. I barely moved them from fatigue. An incredible cold made me tremble from head to toe, my teeth chattered, my head rustled, and something struck my temples with all my might. To all this was added some sort of strange drowsiness. I really wanted to sleep, I really wanted to sleep!
"Well, well, a little more - and you will be with your friends, you will see Nikifor Matveyevich, Nyura, their mother, Seryozha!" - mentally encouraged myself, as I could ...
But this did not help either.
My legs barely moved, I now hardly pulled them out, then one, then the other, from deep snow. But they are moving more slowly, more ... quieter ... And the noise in the head is becoming more audible and audible, and something is beating harder and harder on the whiskey ...
Finally, I can’t stand it and go down to the snowdrift formed on the edge of the road.
Oh, how good! How sweet it is to rest so! Now I feel neither fatigue nor pain ... Some kind of pleasant warmth spreads throughout my body ... Ah, how good! So I would have sat here and not gone anywhere from here! And if it were not for the desire to find out what had happened to Nikifor Matveyevich and to visit him, healthy or sick, I would certainly fall asleep here for an hour or two ... I fell asleep! Moreover, the cemetery is not far ... You can see it. A mile or two, no more ...
The snow stopped falling, the blizzard abated a little, and a month came up from behind the clouds.
Oh, it would be better if the month did not shine and I would not know at least the sad reality!
No cemetery, no church, no houses - nothing is ahead! .. Only the forest blackens with a huge black spot far away, and a white dead field spreads around me in an endless veil ...
  Horror gripped me.
Now I only realized that I was lost.

Swans

Herds of swans flew from the cold side to the warm lands. They flew across the sea. They flew day and night, and another day and another night they, not resting, flew over the water. It was a full month in the sky, and the swans far below them saw blue water. All swans starved, flapping wings; but they did not stop and flew on. Ahead, old, strong swans flew, behind those that were younger and weaker. One young swan flew behind everyone. His strength weakened. He flapped his wings and could not fly further. Then he, having spread his wings, went down. He came closer and closer to the water; and his comrades farther and farther whiter in the monthly light. The swan descended into the water and folded its wings. The sea stirred under him and shook him. A herd of swans was barely visible with a white line in the bright sky. And in a silence it was audible how their wings rang. When they were completely out of sight, the swan bent back its neck and closed its eyes. He did not move, and only the sea, rising and falling in a wide strip, raised and lowered him. Before the dawn, a light breeze began to sway the sea. And the water splashed into the white chest of the swan. The swan opened his eyes. In the east, the dawn reddened, and the month and stars became paler. The swan sighed, stretched its neck and flung its wings, raised and flew, clinging its wings on the water. He rose higher and higher and flew alone over the dark swaying waves.

Parable "The Secret of Happiness"

One merchant sent his son to learn the Secret of Happiness from the wisest of all people. The young man walked through the desert for forty days and,
finally, he approached a beautiful castle on top of a mountain. There lived the sage whom he sought. However, instead of the expected meeting with a wise man, our hero found himself in a hall where everything was seething: merchants came in and out, people were talking in a corner, a small orchestra played sweet melodies and there was a table, laden with the most exquisite dishes of this area. The sage talked with different people, and the young man had to wait about two hours for his turn.
The sage carefully listened to the young man’s explanations about the purpose of his visit, but said in response that he did not have time to reveal the Secret of Happiness to him. And he invited him to walk around the palace and come again in two hours.
“However, I want to ask for a favor,” the sage added, handing the young man a small spoon in which he put two drops of oil. - All the time you walk, hold this spoon in your hand so that the oil does not spill out.
The young man began to rise and descend the palace stairs, not taking his eyes off the spoon. Two hours later he returned to the sage.
“Well,” he asked, “have you seen the Persian rugs in my dining room?” Have you seen the park that the main gardener has been building for ten years? Have you noticed the beautiful parchments in my library?
The young man, embarrassed, had to admit that he did not see anything. His only concern was not to shed the drops of oil that the sage had entrusted to him.
“Well then, come back and get acquainted with the wonders of my Universe,” the sage told him. “You cannot trust a person if you are not familiar with the house in which he lives.”
Reassured, the young man took a spoon and again went for a walk around the palace; this time, paying attention to all the works of art hung on the walls and ceilings of the palace. He saw gardens surrounded by mountains, delicate flowers, the sophistication with which each of the works of art was placed exactly where needed.
Returning to the sage, he described in detail everything he saw.
“And where are the two drops of oil that I entrusted to you?” Asked the Sage.
And the young man, looking at the spoon, found that all the oil had spilled.
- This is the only advice I can give you: The secret of Happiness is to look at all the wonders of the world, while never forgetting about two drops of oil in your spoon.

Parable "NEVOD"

And once again, the net brought a rich catch. The baskets of the fishermen were filled to the top with heads, carps, tench, pike, eels and many other foods. Entire fish families
with children and households, they were taken out to market stalls and prepared to end their existence, writhing in agony in burning pans and in boiling pots.
The fish remaining in the river, bewildered and seized with fear, not daring even to swim, buried deeper in the silt. How to live on? Alone with a net not to cope. He is daily thrown in the most unexpected places. He mercilessly destroys fish, and in the end the whole river will be devastated.
- We should think about the fate of our children. No one, except us, will take care of them and save them from terrible obsession, - the minnows, gathered for advice under a big snag, reasoned.
“But what can we do?” The tench asked timidly, listening to the speeches of the daredevils.
- Destroy the net! - in a single impulse answered minnows. On the same day, the all-knowing brisk eels carried the message
about the bold decision made. All small to large fish were invited to gather tomorrow at dawn in a deep, quiet backwater protected by leafy winds.
Thousands of fish of all stripes and ages sailed to a designated place to declare war net.
- Listen carefully! said the carp, who had more than once been able to cut through the nets and escape from captivity. “The net is as wide as our river.” To keep him stubborn under water, lead sinkers are attached to his lower nodes. I order all fish to split into two schools. The first should lift the sinkers from the bottom to the surface, and the second flock will hold the upper nodes of the network firmly. Pikes are instructed to gnaw the ropes with which the net is attached to both banks.
Holding their breath, the fish listened to every word of the leader.
- I order the eels to immediately go on reconnaissance! - continued the carp. - They should establish where the net is abandoned.
The eels went on a mission, and the schools of fish crowded off the coast in a languid expectation. Pescaras, meanwhile, tried to cheer on the most timid and advised not to panic, even if someone fell into the net: after all, fishermen still could not pull him ashore.
Finally, the eels returned and reported that the net was already abandoned about a mile down the river.
And with a huge armada of fish flocks swam to the goal, led by a wise carp.
“Swim carefully!” The leader warned. “Look at both so that the current does not drag on the net.” Work with might and main fins and brake in time!
Ahead appeared a net, gray and ominous. In a fit of anger, the fish boldly rushed to the attack.
Soon, the net was lifted from the bottom, the ropes holding it were cut with sharp pike teeth, and the knots were torn. But the angry fish did not calm down on this and continued to pounce on the hated enemy. Grasping their teeth for a crippled holey net and working hard with fins and tails, they dragged him in different directions and tore into small pieces. The water in the river seemed to boil.
For a long time, the fishermen reasoned, scratching their heads, about the mysterious disappearance of the net, and the fish still proudly tell this story to their children.

Parable "PELICAN"
As soon as the pelican went in search of food, the viper sitting in an ambush immediately crawled, sneaking, to its nest. Fluffy chicks were sleeping peacefully, unaware of anything. The snake crawled close to them. Her eyes sparkled with an ominous brilliance - and reprisal began.
Having received a deadly bite, the chicks that were sleeping peacefully did not wake up.
Satisfied with the deed, the villain crawled into the shelter to enjoy the grief of the bird from there.
Soon the pelican returned from hunting. At the sight of the brutal reprisal inflicted on the chicks, he burst out with loud sobs, and all the inhabitants of the forest fell silent, shocked by unprecedented cruelty.
“Without you, I now have no life!” Wailed the unfortunate father, looking at the dead children. “May I die with you!”
And he began with his beak to tear his chest at the very heart. Hot blood poured in streams from an open wound, sprinkling lifeless chicks.
Losing his last strength, the dying pelican cast a farewell glance at the nest with the dead chicks and suddenly flinched in surprise.
Oh miracle! His shed blood and parental love brought dear chicks back to life, tearing them from the clutches of death. And then, happy, he gave up his spirit.

Lucky
Sergey Silin

Antoshka ran down the street, with his hands in the pockets of his jacket, stumbled, and, falling, managed to think: “I’ll break my nose!” But I didn’t manage to get my hands out of my pockets.
And suddenly, right in front of him, a little sturdy little man the size of a cat appeared from there.
The little man extended his arms and took Antoshka on them, softening the blow.
Antoshka rolled onto his side, stood on one knee and looked at the peasant in surprise:
- Who are you?
- Lucky.
- Who, who?
- Lucky. I will make sure that you are lucky.
- Does everyone have a lucky person? - Antoshka asked.
“No, there are not so many of us,” the peasant answered. “We are just moving from one to the other.” From today I will be with you.
- I'm starting to get lucky! - Antoshka was delighted.
- Exactly! - lucky lucky man.
“And when will you leave me for another?”
- When required. One merchant, I remember, served for several years. And only two seconds helped one pedestrian.
- Aha! - Antoshka thought. - So I need
something to wish?
- No no! - the peasant raised his hands protestingly. “I am not a doer of desires!” I only help a little smart and hardworking. I just stay close and make the person lucky. Where did my invisibility cap go?
He fumbled with his arms around him, groped for an invisibility cap, put it on and disappeared.
- Are you here? - just in case, Antoshka asked.
“Here, here,” Lucky answered. - Do not pay on
attention to me. Antoshka put his hands in his pockets and ran home. And it’s necessary, lucky: I managed to start the cartoon minute by minute!
An hour later, mom returned from work.
- And I received a prize! she said with a smile. -
Go shopping!
And she went into the kitchen for bags.
- Did Mom get Lucky too? - whispered his assistant Antoshka.
- Not. She's lucky because we're around.
- Mom, I'm with you! - shouted Antoshka.
Two hours later, they returned home with a mountain of shopping.
“Just a streak of luck!” - surprised my mother, gleaming eyes. - All my life I dreamed about such a blouse!
- And I'm talking about such a cake! - Antoshka answered cheerfully from the bathroom.
The next day at school, he received three fives, two fours, found two rubles and made peace with Vasya Poteryashkin.
And when, whistling, he returned home, he discovered that he had lost the keys to the apartment.
- Lucky, where are you? he called.
A tiny, scruffy woman peered out from under the stairs. Her hair was tousled, her dirty sleeve was torn, her shoes asked for porridge.
- But there was no need to whistle! - She smiled and added: - I'm unlucky! What, upset, huh? ..
Don’t worry, don’t worry! The time will come, they will call me back from you!
“I see,” said Antoshka. - The streak of bad luck begins ...
- That's for sure! - Nevezuha nodded joyfully and, stepping into the wall, disappeared.
In the evening, Antoshka received a scolding from dad for the lost key, accidentally broke his mother’s favorite cup, forgot that they asked in Russian, and could not finish reading the book of fairy tales, because he left it at school.
And in front of the window there was a phone call:
- Antoshka, is that you? It's me, lucky one!
- Hello, traitor! muttered Antoshka. “And who are you helping now?”
But Lucky on the "traitor" not a bit offended.
- To one old lady. Imagine her whole life was unlucky! So my boss sent me to her.
Tomorrow I will help her win a million rubles in the lottery, and I will return to you!
- True? - Antoshka was delighted.
“True, true,” Lucky answered and hung up.
At night, Antoshka had a dream. It was as if they and Vezunchik were dragging four bags of their favorite Antoshkin tangerines from the store, and from the window of the house opposite them was a lonely old woman who was lucky for the first time in her life.

Lucina's life

Princess Miguel

"Far, far, at the very end of the world there was a large beautiful blue lake, similar in color to a huge sapphire. In the middle of this lake on a green emerald island, among myrtle and wisteria, intertwined with green ivy and flexible vines, stood a high rock. On it stood a marble the palace, behind which there was a wonderful garden fragrant with aroma, was a very special garden, which can only be found in fairy tales alone.

The owner of the island and the surrounding land was the powerful king Ovar. And the tsar grew a daughter in the palace, the beautiful Miguel - the princess "...

A colorful ribbon floats and unfolds a fairy tale. A series of beautiful, fantastic paintings swirls in front of my spiritual gaze. Aunt Musi's usually loud voice is now reduced to a whisper. Mysteriously and comfortably in a green ivy gazebo. The lacy shadow of the surrounding trees and bushes cast moving spots on the pretty face of the young storyteller. This tale is my favorite. From the day we left my lovely nanny Feni, who knew how to tell me so well about the girl Thumbelina, I listen with pleasure to the only fairy tale about Princess Miguel. I love dearly my princess, despite all her cruelty. Is it her fault, this green-eyed, pale pink and golden-wise princess, that when she was born into the light of God, fairies instead of a heart put a piece of diamond in her small baby breast? And that the direct consequence of this was the complete absence of pity in the soul of the princess. But how beautiful she was! She is beautiful even in those moments when she sent people to fierce death with the movement of a white tiny pen. Those people who accidentally fell into the mysterious garden of the princess.

In that garden, among the roses and lilies, there were little children. Stationary pretty elves chained with silver chains to golden pegs, they were guarding that garden, and at the same time they rang plaintively with their bell-voices.

Let us go free! Let go, beautiful princess Miguel! Let us go! - Their complaints sounded like music. And this music had a pleasant effect on the princess, and she often laughed at the prayers of her little captives.

But their plaintive voices touched the hearts of people passing by the garden. And they looked into the mysterious garden of the princess. Ah, it was not for joy that they appeared here! At each such appearance of an uninvited guest, the guard ran out, grabbed the visitor and, at the order of the princess, threw him into the lake from the cliff

And Princess Miguel laughed only in response to the desperate cries and groans of the drowning ...

I still can’t understand now how it came to my head of a pretty cheerful aunt, such a terrible thing, such a gloomy and difficult fairy tale! The heroine of this tale - Princess Miguel, of course, was a fiction sweet, a little windy, but very kind Aunt Musi. Ah, all the same, let everyone think that fiction is this fairy tale, fiction and Princess Miguel herself, but she, my wondrous princess, was firmly entrenched in my impressionable heart ... Has it ever existed or not, which to me in essence it was when I loved her, my beautiful cruel Miguel! I saw her in a dream, and more than once, I saw her golden hair the color of a ripe ear, her deep green eyes, as green as a forest pool.

Six years passed that year. I already sorted the warehouses and with the help of Aunt Musi wrote instead of sticks clumsy, randomly and at random going letters. And I already understood the beauty. The fabulous beauty of nature: the sun, forests, flowers. And my eyes lit up with delight at the sight of a beautiful picture or elegant illustration on the magazine page.

Aunt Musya, dad and grandmother tried to develop an aesthetic taste in me from my very young age, drawing my attention to the fact that for other children passed without a trace.

Look, Lyusenka, what a beautiful sunset! You see how marvelously the crimson sun drowns in a pond! Look, look, now the water has become completely scarlet. And the surrounding trees seem to be engulfed in fire.

I look and boil with enthusiasm. Indeed, scarlet water, scarlet trees and scarlet sun. What a beauty!

Y. Yakovlev Girls from Vasilyevsky Island

I’m Valya Zaitseva from Vasilyevsky Island.

A hamster lives under my bed. He will fill his full cheeks, in reserve, sit on his hind legs and look with black buttons ... Yesterday I stunned a boy. Weighed him a good bream. We, Vasileostrovsky girls, are able to fend for ourselves when necessary ...

At us on Vasilyevsky it is always windy. It's raining. Pours wet snow. Floods occur. And our island floats like a ship: on the left is the Neva, on the right is the Neva, in front is the open sea.

I have a girlfriend - Tanya Savicheva. We are her neighbors. She is from the Second line, house 13. Four windows on the first floor. Nearby there is a bakery, in the basement a kerosene shop ... Now there is no shop, but in Tanino the time when I was not yet in the world, on the ground floor there always smelled kerosene. They told me.

Tanya Savicheva was as old as I am now. She could have grown up long ago, become a teacher, but she remained forever a girl ... When my grandmother sent Tanya for kerosene, I was gone. And she went to the Rumyantsev Garden with another girlfriend. But I know everything about her. They told me.

She was a singer. I always sang. She wanted to recite verses, but she stumbled over words: she would stumble, and everyone thinks that she forgot the right word. My girlfriend sang because when you sing, you don’t stutter. She could not stutter, she was going to become a teacher, like Linda Augustovna.

She always played a teacher. He will put a big grandmother’s scarf on his shoulders, put his hands together with a lock and walk from corner to corner. “Children, today we will do the repetition with you ...” And then he stumbles on a word, blushes and turns to the wall, although there is nobody in the room.

They say there are doctors who treat stuttering. I would find one. We, Vasileostrovsky girls, whom you want to find! But now the doctor is no longer needed. She stayed there ... my girlfriend Tanya Savicheva. She was taken from besieged Leningrad to the mainland, and the road, called the Road of Life, could not give life to Tanya.

The girl died of starvation ... Is it all the same why die - from starvation or from a bullet. Maybe starvation is even more painful ...

I decided to find the Road of Life. I went to Rzhevka, where this road begins. Two and a half kilometers passed - there the guys built a monument to the children who died in the blockade. I also wanted to build.

Some adults asked me:

- Who are you?

- I’m Valya Zaitsev from Vasilyevsky Island. I also want to build.

I was told:

- It is impossible! Come with your area.

I have not left. I looked around and saw a baby, a tadpole. I grabbed him:

“Did he come with his neighborhood too?”

- He came with a brother.

With a brother you can. With the area you can. But what about being alone?

I told them:

“You see, I don’t just want to build.” I want to build my girlfriend ... Tanya Savicheva.

They rolled out their eyes. They didn’t believe it. They asked again:

- Tanya Savicheva is your girlfriend?

“What is so special here?” We are the same age. Both from Vasilievsky island.

- But she is not ...

What stupid people, and even adults! What does “no” mean if we are friends? I told them to understand:

- We have everything in common. Both the street and the school. We have a hamster. He will fill his cheeks ...

I noticed that they do not believe me. And so they believed, blurted out:

- We even have the same style!

- Handwriting? - They were even more surprised.

- And what? Handwriting!

Suddenly they became more cheerful, from the handwriting:

- It is very good! This is a direct find. Come with us.

“I'm not going anywhere.” I want to build ...

- You will build! You will write for the monument with Tannin's handwriting.

“I can,” I agreed. “Only I don't have a pencil.” Give?

- You will write on concrete. On concrete do not write in pencil.

I never wrote on concrete. I wrote on the walls, on the asphalt, but they brought me to a concrete factory and gave Tanya a diary - a notebook with the alphabet: a, b, c ... I have the same book. For forty cents.

I picked up Tanin’s diary and opened the page. It was written there:

I felt cold. I wanted to give them the book and leave.

But I'm Vasileostrovskaya. And if an older sister died at a friend, I should stay with her, and not run away.

- Let's get your concrete. I will write.

The crane lowered a huge frame with thick gray dough at my feet. I took my wand, squatted down and began to write. Concrete blew cold. It was hard to write. And they told me:

- Do not rush.

I made mistakes, smoothed concrete with my palm and wrote again.

It didn’t work out well for me.

- Do not rush. Write calmly.

While I was writing about Zhenya, my grandmother died.

If you just want to eat, it's not hunger - you eat an hour later.

I tried to starve from morning to evening. I suffered. Hunger - when the head, hands, heart are starving day after day, everything you have is starving. First he goes hungry, then he dies.

Leki had his own corner, fenced off with cabinets, he drew there.

He made money by sketching and studied. He was quiet and short-sighted, with glasses, and everything creaked in his placeholder. They told me.

Where did he die? Probably in the kitchen, where a “potbelly stove” smoked with a small weak engine, where they slept, they ate bread once a day. A little piece, like a cure for death. Leke did not have enough medicine ...

“Write,” they said quietly to me.

In the new frame, the concrete was liquid, it crawled over the letters. And the word "dead" has disappeared. I did not want to write it again. But they told me:

- Write, Valya Zaitseva, write.

And I wrote again - "died."

I am very tired of writing the word "dead." I knew that with every page of the diary, Tanya Savicheva was getting worse. She had long stopped singing and did not notice that she was stuttering. She no longer played a teacher. But she didn’t give up - she lived. They told me ... Spring has come. The trees are green. We have a lot of trees on Vasilyevsky. Tanya dried up, froze, became thin and light. Her hands trembled and her eyes hurt from the sun. The Nazis killed half of Tanya Savicheva, and maybe more than half. But her mother was with her, and Tanya held on.

“What are you not writing?” - quietly told me. - Write, Valya Zaitseva, otherwise the concrete will harden.

For a long time I did not dare to open a page with the letter "M". On this page, Tanya’s hand wrote: “Mom May 13 at 7.30 a.m.

in the morning of 1942. " Tanya did not write the word "dead." She did not have the strength to write this word.

I gripped the wand tightly and touched the concrete. I did not look into the diary, but wrote by heart. It’s good that we have the same handwriting.

I wrote with all my might. Concrete became thick, almost frozen. He no longer crawled into letters.

- Can you still write?

“I will add,” I answered, and turned away so that they would not see my eyes. After all, Tanya Savicheva is my ... girlfriend.

Tanya and I are the same age, we, Vasileostrovsky girls, are able to fend for ourselves when necessary. If she had not been Vasileostrovsky, Leningrad, she would not have lasted so long. But she lived - that means she didn’t give up!

Opened page "C". There were two words: "the Savichevs died."

I opened the page "U" - "All died." The last page of the diary of Tanya Savicheva was the letter “O” - “Tanya was left alone”.

And I imagined that it was me, Valya Zaitseva, who was left alone: \u200b\u200bwithout mom, without dad, without Lyulka’s sister. Hungry. Under fire.

In an empty apartment on the second line. I wanted to cross out this last page, but the concrete hardened and the wand broke.

And suddenly, to myself, I asked Tanya Savicheva: “Why alone?

And I? You have a girlfriend - Valya Zaitseva, your neighbor from Vasilyevsky Island. We will go with you to the Rumyantsev Garden, run around, and when tired, I will bring my grandmother’s scarf from the house, and we will play teacher Linda Augustovna. A hamster lives under my bed. I'll give it to you for your birthday. Do you hear Tanya Savicheva? ”

Someone put a hand on my shoulder and said:

- Come on, Valya Zaitseva. You did everything you need. Thanks.

I did not understand why they say "thank you" to me. I said:

“I'll be back tomorrow ... without my area.” Can?

“Come without a district,” they told me. - Come.

My girlfriend Tanya Savicheva did not shoot at the Nazis and was not a partisan scout. She just lived in her hometown at the most difficult time. But maybe the fascists didn’t enter Leningrad because Tanya Savicheva lived in it and there were many other girls and boys who remained in their time forever. And today's guys are friends with them, as I am friends with Tanya.

And they are only friends with the living.

Vladimir Zheleznyakov "Scarecrow"

A circle of their faces flashed before me, and I rushed about in it like a squirrel in a wheel.

I would have to stop and leave.

The boys attacked me.

“For her feet! - yelled Valka. “Feet! ..”

They threw me down and grabbed my legs and arms. I kicked and jumped with all my might, but they twisted me and dragged me into the garden.

Iron Button and Shmakov dragged a scarecrow mounted on a long stick. Dimka came out behind them and stood aside. The stuffed animal was in my dress, with my eyes, with my mouth to my ears. Legs are made of stockings stuffed with straw; instead of hair, tow sticking out and some feathers. A plaque dangled around my neck, that is, a scarecrow, with the words: "Scarecrow is a traitor."

Lenka fell silent and somehow all died out.

Nikolai Nikolaevich realized that the limit of her story and the limit of her strength had come.

“And they had fun around the stuffed animal,” Lenka said. - Jumped and laughed:

"Wow, our beauty-ah-ah!"

“Wait!”

“I came up with! I came up with! - Shmakova jumped for joy. - Let Dima set fire to the fire! .. "

After these words, Shmakova completely stopped being afraid. I thought: if Dima sets it on fire, then maybe I'll just die.

And Valka at that time - he was always in time everywhere first - stuck a scarecrow into the ground and poured brushwood around him.

“I have no matches,” Dima said quietly.

“But I have it!” - Shaggy stuck matches in Dimka’s hand and pushed him to the scarecrow.

Dima stood near the scarecrow, his head bowed low.

I froze - I waited for the last time! Well, I thought he would look back and say: “Guys, Lenka is not to blame for anything ... I’m all!”

“Set it on fire!” Iron Button ordered.

I could not stand it and screamed:

“Dima! No, Dimka-ah-ah! .. "

But he was still standing near the scarecrow - I could see his back, he was slouching and seemed somehow small. Maybe because the scarecrow was on a long stick. Only he was small and weak.

“Well, Somov! - said Iron Button. “Go, finally, to the end!”

Dima fell to his knees and lowered his head so low that only his shoulders were sticking out, and his head was completely invisible. It turned out some kind of headless arsonist. He struck a match, and a flame of fire grew over his shoulders. Then he jumped up and hurriedly ran to the side.

They dragged me close to the fire. I, not looking up, looked at the flame of a fire. Granddad! I felt then how this fire gripped me, how it burns, bakes and bites, although only waves of its heat reached me.

I screamed, I screamed so much that they unexpectedly released me.

When they released me, I rushed to the fire and began to scatter it with my feet, grabbed the burning branches of my hands - I did not want the scarecrow to burn. For some reason I really didn’t want this!

The first to recollect Dimka.

“Are you crazy? - He grabbed my hand and tried to pull me away from the fire. - This is a joke! Don't you understand jokes? ”

I became strong, easily defeated him. So she pushed that he flew upside down - only his heels flashed to the sky. And she pulled out a scarecrow from the fire and began to swing it over her head, stepping on everyone. The scarecrow was already seized by fire, sparks flew from it in different directions, and all of them scaredly scared from these sparks.

They fled.

And I was so whirling, dispersing them, that I could not stop until I fell. A scarecrow lay next to me. It was scorched, fluttering in the wind and from this as a living.

At first I lay with my eyes closed. Then she felt that she smelled of burning, opened her eyes - her dress was smoking in the stuffed animal. I slammed the smoldering hem with my hand and lay back on the grass.

There was a crunch of branches, walking steps, and silence came.

Green Mezzanine Anya by Lucy Maud Montgomery

It was already quite light when Anya woke up and sat on the bed, staring blankly out the window, through which a stream of joyful sunlight poured and behind which something white and fluffy swayed against a bright blue sky.

In the first instant, she could not remember where she was. At first she felt a delightful thrill, as if something very pleasant had happened, then a terrible memory had come. It was the Green Mezzanines, but they didn’t want to leave her here, because she was not a boy!

But it was morning, and outside the window was a cherry, all in bloom. Anya jumped out of bed and with one leap appeared at the window. Then she pushed the window frame - the frame came with a creak, as if it had not been opened for a long time, which, however, was actually the case - and knelt down, peering into the June morning. Her eyes shone with delight. Ah, isn't that wonderful? Isn't this a pretty place? If she could stay here! She imagines what remains. There is room for imagination.

The huge cherry grew so close to the window that its branches touched the house. She was so densely strewn with flowers that not a single leaf was visible. On both sides of the house were large gardens, on the one hand - apple, on the other - cherry, all in bloom. The grass under the trees seemed yellow from flowering dandelions. At a distance, in the garden, lilac bushes could be seen, all in clusters of bright purple flowers, and the morning breeze brought their dizzying sweet aroma to Anin's window.

Further beyond the garden, green meadows covered with lush clover descended to the valley, where a stream ran and many white birches grew, whose slender trunks rose above the undergrowth, suggesting a wonderful vacation among ferns, mosses and forest herbs. Beyond the valley was a hill, green and fluffy from firs and firs. There was a small gap among them, and the gray mezzanine of that house that Anya had seen on the other side of the Lake of Glistening Waters peered into it.

On the left were large barns and other outbuildings, and behind them green fields descended down to the sparkling blue sea.

Ani's eyes, sensitive to beauty, slowly moved from one picture to another, eagerly absorbing everything that was in front of her. The poor thing in her life saw so many ugly places. But what opened before her now surpassed her most violent dreams.

She was on her knees, forgetting everything in the world, except for the beauty that surrounded her, until she flinched, feeling a hand on her shoulder. The little dreamer did not hear Marilla enter.

“It's time to get dressed,” Marilla said shortly.

Marilla simply did not know how to speak with this child, and this unpleasantness to herself made her sharp and decisive against her will.

Anya got up with a deep sigh.

- Ah. Isn't it wonderful? She asked, pointing with her hand to the beautiful world outside the window.

“Yes, this is a big tree,” said Marilla, “and it blooms profusely, but the cherries themselves are no good — small and wormy.”

- Oh, I'm not just talking about a tree; of course, it is beautiful ... yes, it is dazzlingly beautiful ... it blooms as if it were extremely important for him ... But I had in mind everything: the garden, and the trees, and the stream, and forests - the whole great beautiful world. Don't you feel like you love the whole world on such a morning? I can even hear the creek laughing in the distance. Have you ever noticed what joyful creations these streams are? They always laugh. Even in winter, I hear their laughter from under the ice. I am so glad that here, near the Green Mezzanines, there is a stream. Maybe you think that it does not matter to me, since you do not want to leave me here? But this is not so. I will always be pleased to recall that there is a stream near the Green Mezzanines, even if I never see it again. If there hadn’t been a stream, I would always have been plagued by the unpleasant feeling that he should have been here. This morning I'm not in the depths of grief. I never go to the depths of grief in the morning. Isn’t it wonderful that there is morning? But I am very sad. I just imagined that you still need me and that I will stay here forever, forever. It was a great consolation to imagine this. But the most unpleasant thing in imaginary things is that there comes a moment when you have to stop imagining, and this is very painful.

“Better get dressed, go downstairs and don’t think about your imaginary things,” said Marilla as soon as she managed to insert a word. - Breakfast is waiting. Wash your face and comb your hair. Leave the window open and unfold the bed so that it ventilates. And quick, please.

Anya, obviously, could act quickly when it was required, because within ten minutes she went downstairs, neatly dressed, with her hair combed and braided, her face washed; while her soul was filled with a pleasant consciousness that she had fulfilled all the requirements of Marilla. However, in fairness, it should be noted that she still forgot to open the bed for airing.

“I'm very hungry today,” she announced, slipping into the chair Marilla had indicated to her. “The world no longer seems so gloomy desert like last night.” I'm so glad that the morning is sunny. However, I love rainy mornings too. Any morning is interesting, right? It is not known what awaits us on this day, and there is so much room for imagination. But I am glad that today there is no rain, because it is easier not to lose heart and steadfastly endure the vicissitudes of fate on a sunny day. I feel that I have a lot to bear today. It is very easy to read about the misfortunes of others and imagine that we could heroically overcome them, but it is not so easy when you have to really encounter them, right?

“For God's sake, hold your tongue,” said Marilla. “The little girl shouldn't talk so much.”

After this remark, Anya completely became silent, so obediently, that her continued silence annoyed Marilla somewhat, as something not quite natural. Matthew was silent too - but at least it was natural - so breakfast was completely silent.

As he approached the end, Anya became more and more absent-minded. She ate mechanically, and her large eyes were inseparable, with an invisible gaze looking at the sky outside the window. This annoyed Marilla even more. She had an unpleasant feeling that while the body of this strange child was at the table, his spirit soared on the wings of fantasy in some transcendental country. Who would want to have such a child in the house?

And yet, what was most incomprehensible, Matthew wished to leave her! Marilla felt that he wanted it this morning as much as last night, and was going to continue to want it. It was his usual way - to drive some kind of quirk into his head and cling to it with startling silent tenacity - tenacity ten times more powerful and effective thanks to silence than if he had spoken about his desire from morning till night.

When breakfast was over, Anya got out of her reverie and offered to wash the dishes.

- Do you know how to wash dishes properly? - asked Marilla incredulously.

“Pretty good.” True, I am better able to babysit children. I have a lot of experience in this matter. It’s a pity that you don’t have children here that I could do.

“But I would not want to have more children here than at the moment.” It’s quite enough trouble with you alone. I won’t know what to do with you. Matthew is so funny.

“He seemed very nice to me,” Anya said reproachfully. - He is very friendly and did not mind at all, no matter how much I said - he seemed to like it. I felt a soul mate in him as soon as I saw him.

“Both of you are eccentrics, if you mean it, speaking of soulmates,” Marilla snorted. - Well, you can wash the dishes. Do not spare hot water and wipe it off properly. I already have a lot of work this morning, because I have to go to White Sands after lunch to see Mrs. Spencer. You will come with me, and there we will decide what to do with you. When you finish the dishes, go upstairs and make a bed.

Anya rather quickly and thoroughly washed the dishes, which did not go unnoticed by Marilla. Then she made a bed, though with less success, because she had never learned the art of fighting feather bed. But still the bed was made up, and Marilla, in order to get rid of the girl for a while, said that she allowed her to go to the garden and play there before dinner.

Anya rushed to the door, with a lively face and shining eyes. But at the very doorstep she suddenly stopped, turned sharply back and sat down near the table, an expression of delight disappeared from her face, as if a wind had blew him away.

“Well, what else happened?” - asked Marilla.

“I dare not go out,” said Anya in the tone of a martyr, renouncing all earthly joys. “If I cannot stay here, I should not fall in love with Green Mezzanines.” And if I go out and get to know all these trees, flowers, and the garden, and the stream, I cannot help but love them. It’s already hard for me, and I don’t want it to become even harder. I so want to go out - everything seems to be calling me: "Anya, Anya, come out to us! Anya, Anya, we want to play with you!" - but it’s better not to do it. Do not fall in love with what you have to be torn from forever, right? And it’s so hard to resist and not love, right? That's why I was so glad when I thought I would stay here. I thought there was so much to love that nothing would stop me. But this brief dream has passed. Now I am reconciled with my rock, so I better not go out. Otherwise, I’m afraid I won’t be able to reconcile with him again. What is the name of this flower in a pot on the windowsill, please tell me?

- This is geranium.

“Oh, I don't mean that name.” I mean the name you gave her. You did not give her a name? Then can I do it? May I call her ... oh let me think ... Darling will do ... can I call her Darling while I am here? Oh, let me call her that!

“Yes, for God's sake, I don't care.” But what's the point of giving a name to geraniums?

“Oh, I love things to have names, even if it's only geraniums.” This makes them more like people. How do you know that you don’t hurt the feelings of geranium when you simply call it “geranium” and nothing more? After all, you would not like it if you were always called simply a woman. Yes, I will call her Sweetheart. I gave a name this morning to this cherry under the window of my bedroom. I called her the Snow Queen because she is so white. Of course, it will not always be in bloom, but you can always imagine this, right?

“I’ve never seen or heard anything like it in my life,” muttered Marilla, fleeing to the basement for potatoes. “She's really interesting, as Matthew says.” I already feel how busy I am, what else will she say. She casts a spell on me. And already let them in on Matthew. This look that he threw at me when he went out again expressed everything that he talked about and hinted at yesterday. It would be better if he was like other men and spoke openly about everything. Then it would be possible to answer and convince him. But what will you do with a man who is just looking?

When Marilla returned from her pilgrimage to the basement, she found Anna again falling into daydreaming. The girl sat with her chin in her hands and her gaze fixed on the sky. So Marilla left her until lunch appeared on the table.

“Can I get a mare and a gig after dinner, Matthew?” - asked Marilla.

Matthew nodded and looked sadly at Anya. Marilla caught her eye and said dryly:

“I'm going to go to the White Sands and solve this issue.” I'll take Anya with me so Mrs. Spencer can send her back to Nova Scotia right away. I will leave you tea on the stove and return home in time for milking.

And again, Matthew said nothing. Marilla felt that she was wasting words. Nothing is more annoying than a man who does not answer ... except a woman who does not answer.

In due time, Matthew harnessed the bay, and Marilla and Anya got into a convertible. Matthew opened the courtyard gate in front of them and, as they slowly passed by, he said loudly, seeming to no one addressing:

“There was a guy here in the morning, Jerry Boot from Creek, and I told him I would hire him for the summer.”

Marilla did not answer, but whipped the unfortunate bay with such force that the fat mare, not used to such treatment, indignantly jerked her gallop. When the cabriolet was already rolling along the high road, Marilla turned around and saw that the unbearable Matthew was leaning against the gate, and looked sadly after them.

WOLVES

So the village life is arranged, that even if you don't go out into the woods before noon, go for a walk through the familiar mushroom and berry places, then by the evening there is nothing to run, everything will hide.

So one girl judged. The sun had just risen to the tops of the fir trees, and in the hands was already a full basket, wandered far, but what mushrooms! With gratitude she looked around and was just about to leave, as the distant bushes suddenly startled and the beast came out into the clearing, his eyes closely watched the figure of the girl.

- Oh, dog! - she said.

Cows grazed nearby, and getting to know a shepherd dog in the forest was not a big surprise to them. But a meeting with several more pairs of animal eyes was numb ...

“Wolves,” the thought flickered, “the road is near, to run ...” Yes, the forces disappeared, the basket involuntarily fell out of my hands, my legs became cottony and naughty.

- Mother! - this sudden cry suspended the flock, which had already reached the middle of the meadow. - People, help! - flashed three times over the forest.

As the shepherds later said: “We heard screams, thought the children were indulging ...” It's five kilometers from the village, in the forest!

Wolves slowly approached, a wolf walked ahead. It happens so with these animals - the she-wolf becomes the head of the pack. Only her eyes were not so fierce as studying. They seemed to ask: “Well, man? What will you do now when there are no weapons in your hands, and your relatives are not nearby? ”

The girl fell to her knees, closed her eyes with her hands and cried. Suddenly, the thought of prayer came to her, as if something had stirred in her soul, as if the words of her grandmother had been resurrected, memorable from childhood: “Ask the Virgin! ”

The girl did not remember the words of prayer. By overshadowing herself with the sign of the Cross, she asked the Mother of God, like her mother, in the last hope of intercession and salvation.

When she opened her eyes, the wolves, bypassing the bushes, went into the forest. Ahead, slowly, with her head down, there was a wolf.

LETTER TO GOD

This happened at the end of the 19th century.

Petersburg Christmas Eve. A cold, piercing wind blows from the bay. It spills fine, spiky snow. The horses hooves clatter on the cobblestone pavement, the doors of the shops slam - the last purchases are made before the holiday. Everyone is in a hurry to get home faster.

Only a little boy slowly walks along a snowy street. From time to time he takes out his reddened hands from the pockets of a dilapidated coat and tries to warm them with his breath. Then he puts them deeper into his pockets again and moves on. Here he stops at the bakery shop window and looks at the pretzels and bagels displayed behind the glass.

The store door opened, releasing another customer, and pulled out of it with the scent of freshly baked bread. The boy frantically swallowed saliva, stomped on the spot and wandered on.

Twilight falls imperceptibly. Passers are becoming less and less. The boy pauses at the building, the windows of which light is on, and, rising on tiptoe, tries to look inside. After a moment, he opens the door.

The old clerk was late in service today. He has nowhere to rush. For a long time he lives alone and feels especially lonely on holidays. The clerk sat and bitterly thought that he had no one to celebrate Christmas with, no one to give presents. At this time, the door opened. The old man looked up and saw a boy.

- Uncle, uncle, I need to write a letter! The boy said quickly.

- Do you have money? The clerk asked sternly.

The boy, fumbling a hat in his hands, took a step back. And then the lonely clerk remembered that today was Christmas Eve and that he really wanted to give someone a present. He took out a blank sheet of paper, dipped his pen in ink and deduced: “Petersburg. January 6. Mr. ... "

- What is the surname of mister?

“This is not a master,” the boy muttered, still not completely believing his luck.

- Ah, is that a lady? - smiling, the clerk asked.

No no! The boy said quickly.

So who do you want to write a letter to? - the old man was surprised,

- to Jesus.

- How dare you mock an old man? - the clerk was indignant and wanted to point the boy to the door. But then I saw tears in the eyes of the child and remembered that today is Christmas Eve. He felt ashamed of his anger, and in a warmer voice he asked:

“What do you want to write to Jesus?”

“My mother always taught me to ask God for help when it's difficult.” She said that God’s name is Jesus Christ. - The boy came closer to the clerk and continued: - And yesterday she fell asleep, and I just can not wake her up. There is not even bread at home, I feel so hungry. ”He wiped his tears from his eyes with his palm.

“How did you wake her?” The old man asked, rising from his desk.

“I kissed her.”

“Does she breathe?”

- What are you, uncle, do you breathe in a dream?

“Jesus Christ has already received your letter,” said the old man, hugging the boy by the shoulders. “He told me to take care of you, and took your mother to Him.”

The old clerk thought: “My mother, going into another world, you ordered me to be a good man and a pious Christian. "I forgot your mandate, but now you will not be ashamed of me."

THE SPEAKED WORD

On the outskirts of the big city stood an old house with a garden. They were guarded by a reliable watchman - the smart dog Uranus. In vain he never barked at anyone, vigilantly followed strangers, rejoiced at the owners.

But this house came under demolition. Its inhabitants were offered a comfortable apartment, and then the question arose - what to do with the shepherd? As a watchman, Uranus was no longer needed, becoming only a burden. Fierce debate over the dog’s fate went on for several days. The plaintive sobbing of his grandson and formidable cries of his grandfather often flew through the open window from the house to the guardhouse.

What did Uranus understand from the words he heard? Who knows...

They only noticed the daughter-in-law and grandson, who were making food for him, that the dog’s bowl had remained untouched for more than a day. Uranus did not eat in the following days, no matter how he was persuaded. He no longer wagged his tail when they approached him, and even looked away to the side, as if he no longer wanted to look at the people who betrayed him.

A daughter-in-law expecting an heir or heiress suggested:

“But did Uranus get sick?” The owner in his hearts threw:

- It would be better if the dog itself died. I wouldn’t have to shoot then.

The daughter-in-law flinched.

Uranus looked at him with a look that the master then could not forget for a long time.

The grandson persuaded a neighbor veterinarian to see his pet. But the veterinarian did not find any disease, only thoughtfully said:

“Maybe he was longing for something ... Uranus soon died, until his death, only his daughter-in-law and grandson, who visited him, were a little wagging their tail.

And the master at night often recalled the look of Uranus, who had served him faithfully for so many years. The old man already regretted the cruel words that killed the dog.

But is it to return what was said?

And who knows how the voiced evil of a grandson, tied to his four-legged friend, wounded?

And who knows how it, flying around the world like a radio wave, will affect the souls of unborn children, future generations?

Words live, words do not die ...

In an old book it was told: one girl had a dad. The girl yearned for him. He was always affectionate with her. She lacked this warmth.

One day, Papa dreamed about her and said: now, be affectionate with people. Every good word serves Eternity.

Masha

Christmas story

Once, many years ago, the girl Masha was mistaken for an Angel. It happened so.

One poor family had three children. Their dad died, mother worked where she could, and then fell ill. There was not a bit left in the house, but I wanted so much. What to do?

Mom went outside and began to beg for alms, but people, not noticing her, passed by. Christmas night was approaching, and the woman said: “I’m not asking myself, my children ... for Christ’s sake! ”Drowned in the holiday fuss.

In desperation, she entered the church and began to ask for the help of Christ Himself. Who else was left to ask?

Here, at the icon of the Savior, Masha saw a woman kneeling. Her face was filled with tears. The girl had never seen such suffering before.

Masha had an amazing heart. When near rejoiced, and she wanted to jump with happiness. But if someone was hurt, she could not pass by and asked:

What happened to you? Why are you crying? And someone else's pain penetrated her heart. So now she leaned toward the woman:

Do you have grief?

And when she shared her misfortune with her, Masha, who had never experienced hunger in her life, imagined three lonely kids who had not seen food for a long time. Without hesitation, she handed the woman five rubles. That was all her money.

At that time, it was a significant amount, and the woman's face shone.

Where is your house? - asked farewell Masha. She was surprised to learn that a poor family was living in a neighboring basement. The girl did not understand how to live in the basement, but she firmly knew what she needed to do this Christmas evening.

A happy mother flew home like on wings. She bought food at a nearby store, and the children joyfully greeted her.

Soon the stove burned and the samovar began to boil. The children warmed up, became full and fell silent. The table, laden with food, was an unexpected holiday for them, almost a miracle.

But then Nadia, the smallest, asked:

Mom, is it true that God sends an angel to the children of Christmas and he brings them many, many gifts?

Mom knew perfectly well that there was no one to wait for the guests from. Glory to God and for what He has already given them: all are well-fed and warmed. But babies are babies. They so wanted to have a Christmas tree on Christmas Day, the same as all the other children. What could she, poor, tell them? Destroy children's faith?

The children looked at her warily, waiting for an answer. And mom confirmed:

It's true. But the Angel comes only to those who wholeheartedly believe in God and wholeheartedly pray to Him.

And I believe in God with all my heart and pray to Him with all my heart, - Nadia did not back down. “Let him send us his angel.”

Mom did not know what to say. There was silence in the room, only logs cracked in the stove. And suddenly there was a knock. The children started, and my mother crossed herself and with a trembling hand opened the door.

On the threshold stood a small blonde girl Masha, and behind her - a bearded man with a Christmas tree in his hands.

Merry Christmas! - joyfully congratulated the owners Mashenka. The children froze.

While the bearded man was setting up the Christmas tree, the Nanny Machine entered the room with a large basket, from which gifts immediately began to appear. The kids did not believe their eyes. But neither they nor mother suspected that the girl had given them her Christmas tree and her presents.

And when the unexpected guests left, Nadia asked:

Was this girl an angel?

BACK TO LIFE

Based on the story of A. Dobrovolsky "Seryozha"

Usually the brothers' beds were nearby. But when Seryozha fell ill with pneumonia, Sasha was moved to another room and forbidden to disturb the baby. They only asked to pray for a little brother, who was getting worse and worse.

One evening, Sasha looked into the patient's room. Seryozha lay with his eyes open, not seeing anything and barely breathing. Frightened, the boy rushed to the office, from which the voices of his parents came. The door was ajar, and Sasha heard mother crying, saying that Seryozha was dying. Papa answered with pain in his voice:

“Why cry now?” Its no longer spas ...

In horror, Sasha rushed into her sister's room. There was nobody there, and he sobbed and fell to his knees in front of the icon of the Mother of God hanging on the wall. Through sobs, words broke through:

- Lord, Lord, make sure Seryozha does not die!

Sasha’s face was filled with tears. Around everything was blurry, as in a fog. The boy vi-affairs in front of himself is only the face of the Mother of God. The sense of time has faded.

- Lord, you can do anything, save Seryozha!

It was already completely dark. Exhausted, Sasha with a corpse stood up and lit a table lamp. Before her lay the gospel. The boy turned over several pages, and suddenly his eyes fell on the line: “Go, and as you believed, let it be to you ...”

As if hearing an order, he went to Serezha. At the bed of his beloved brother, silently sat mother. She gave a sign: "Do not make noise, Seryozha fell asleep."

Words were not spoken, but this sign was like a ray of hope. Asleep - it means alive, then it will live!

Three days later, Seryozha could already sit in bed, and the children were allowed to visit him. They brought his brother’s favorite toys, fortress and houses, which he cut out and glued before the disease — all that could please the baby. A little sister with a big doll stood near Seryozha, and Sasha, exulting, photographed them.

These were moments of true happiness.

YOUR CHILD

A chick fell out of the nest - quite small, helpless, even the wings have not yet grown. He can’t do anything, he just peeps and opens the beak - he asks for food.

The guys took it and brought it to the house. They built him a nest of grass and twigs. Vova fed the baby, and Ira watered and carried out in the sun.

Soon, the chick grew stronger, and instead of a cannon, feathers began to grow. The guys found an old birdcage in the attic and put their pet in it for reliability - the cat began to look at it very expressively. I was on duty at the door for days, waiting for a convenient moment. And no matter how much his children drove, he did not take his eyes off the chick.

Summer flew by unnoticed. The chick in front of the children grew up and began to fly around the cage. And soon he became cramped in it. When the cage was carried outside, he fought on the rods and asked for freedom. So the guys decided to release their pet. Of course, it was a pity for them to part with him, but they could not deprive the freedom of those who were created for the flight.

One sunny morning, the children said goodbye to their pet, carried the cage into the yard and opened it. The chick jumped onto the grass and looked back at his friends.

At that moment a cat appeared. Lurking in the bushes, he prepared to jump, rushed, but ... The chick soared high, high ...

The holy elder John of Kronstadt compared our soul with a bird. The enemy hunts for every soul, wants to catch. After all, at first the human soul, just like a fledgling fledgling, helpless, can not fly. How can we preserve it, how to grow it so that it does not crash against sharp stones, does not get into the net of a catcher?

The Lord created a saving fence, beyond which our soul grows and grows stronger - the house of God, the Holy Church. In it, the soul learns to fly high, high, to heaven itself. And she learns there such bright joy that no earthly networks are afraid of her.

MIRROR

Dot, dot, comma,

Minus, mug curve.

Stick, stick, cucumber -

So the little man came out.

With this poem, Nadia finished the drawing. Then, fearing that she would not be understood, she signed under him: “It's me.” She carefully examined her creation and decided that he was missing something.

The young artist went to the mirror and began to examine herself: what else needs to be finished so that anyone can understand who is depicted in the portrait?

Nadia was very fond of dressing up and turning in front of a large mirror, tried different hairstyles. This time the girl tried on her mother’s hat with a veil.

She wanted to look mysterious and romantic, like long-legged girls showing fashion on TV. Nadia introduced herself as an adult, threw a languid look in the mirror and tried to walk the mannequin's gait. It didn’t turn out very beautifully, and when she stopped abruptly, the hat rolled over her nose.

It’s good that no one saw her at this moment. That would have laughed! In general, she did not like being a model at all.

The girl took off her hat, and then her eyes fell on her grandmother's hat. Unable to resist, she tried on her. And she froze, making an amazing discovery: like two drops of water, she looked like her granny. She had no wrinkles yet. Till.

Now Nadia knew what she would become in many years. True, this future seemed very distant to her ...

It became clear to Nadya why her grandmother loved her so much, why she watched her pranks with gentle sadness and sighed slyly.

There were steps. Nadia hastily put the hat back on and ran to the door. On the threshold she met ... herself, but not so frisky. But the eyes were exactly the same: childishly surprised and joyful.

Nadia embraced herself in the future and quietly asked:

Grandmother, is it true that in childhood you were me?

My grandmother was silent for a moment, then smiled mysteriously and took an old album from the shelf. Flipping through several pages, she showed a photograph of a little girl very similar to Nadia.

That's what I was like.

Oh, really, you look like me! - the granddaughter exclaimed in delight.

Or maybe you look like me? - Grandmother asked slyly squinting.

It doesn’t matter who looks like anyone. The main thing - they are similar - the baby did not concede.

Isn't that important? And look at whom I looked like ...

And grandmother began to leaf through the album. What kind of people were there. And what faces! And each was beautiful in its own way. The peace, dignity and warmth emitted by them attracted the eye. Nadia noticed that all of them - young children and gray-haired old men, young ladies and smart military men - were somewhat similar to each other ... And to her.

Tell me about them, ”the girl asked.

Grandmother pressed her own blood to her, and a story began about their kind, dating back to ancient times.

The time has already come for the cartoons, but the girl did not want to watch them. She discovered something amazing, a long time ago, but living in it.

Do you know the story of your grandfathers, great-grandfathers, a story of a kind? Maybe this story is your mirror?

The PARKER

Petya hung around the house. All games are tired. Then my mother gave the order to go to the store and still suggested:

Our neighbor, Maria Nikolaevna, broke her leg. She has no one to buy bread. He barely moves around the room. Come on, I'll call and find out maybe she needs something to buy.

Aunt Masha was delighted with the call. And when the boy brought her a whole bag of groceries, she did not know how to thank him. For some reason, she showed Petya the empty cage in which the parrot had recently lived. That was her friend. Aunt Masha looked after him, shared her thoughts, and he took and flew away. Now she has no one to say, no one to care about. And what kind of life is it if you don't care about anyone?

Petya looked at the empty cage, at the crutches, imagined how Aunt Mania was waddling around the empty apartment, and an unexpected thought occurred to him. The fact is that he had long saved up the money that was given to him for toys. I did not find anything suitable. And now this strange thought is to buy a parrot for Aunt Masha.

Saying goodbye, Petya jumped out into the street. He wanted to go to the pet shop, where he had once seen different parrots. But now he looked at them through the eyes of Aunt Masha. Which one could she make friends with? Maybe this one will suit her, maybe this one?

Petya decided to ask a neighbor about the fugitive. The next day, he said to his mother:

Call Aunt Masha ... Maybe she needs something?

Mom even froze, then pressed her son to her and whispered:

So you become a man ... Petya was offended:

Have I never been a person before?

It was, of course it was, - my mother smiled. - Only now you have also woken up your soul ... Thank God!

What is a soul? - the boy was guarded.

This is the ability to love.

Mom looked probingly at her son:

Maybe you’ll call?

Petya was embarrassed. Mom picked up the phone: Maria Nikolaevna, sorry, Petya has a question for you. I’ll hand him the phone now.

There was nowhere to go, and Petya muttered confusedly:

Aunt Masha, maybe you should buy something?

What happened on the other end of the wire, Petya did not understand, only the neighbor answered in an unusual voice. Thanked and asked to bring milk if he goes to the store. She doesn't need anything else. Thanks again.

When Petya called her apartment, he heard a hasty knock of crutches. Aunt Masha did not want to make him wait an extra second.

While the neighbor was looking for money, the boy, as if by chance, began to ask her about the missing parrot. Aunt Masha eagerly talked about color and behavior ...

In the pet shop there were several parrots of such color. Petya chose for a long time. When he brought his gift to Aunt Masha, then ... I don’t presume to describe what happened next.

Each person periodically faces the need to learn material of various contents and volumes. This is easy for someone, but the predominant number of people encounter difficulties, not knowing how to quickly memorize a given volume of text.

The work of the human brain has not yet been 100% studied, we only know that we use a small part of the brain’s abilities. The psychological processes taking place in the human mind lend themselves to daily training. Memory and other mechanisms of consciousness can be developed to unprecedented heights. A strong memory will make it possible to achieve success in any area of \u200b\u200bhuman life, it will be needed in everyday life, study, it will easily increase intellectual abilities.

In order to learn a text, artistic or scientific content, constant memory training with specially designed exercises is required. Human memory is divided into visual, auditory, olfactory, taste and tactile. It represents the ability to remember and store any amount of information.

Each type of memory develops differently in people. It is easier for someone to memorize a text by pronouncing it out loud, while someone else is better absorbed after visualizing what they read. Therefore, it is important to understand what type of memory is better developed in order to use it for memorization in the future.

The same information can be learned well in several ways. There are three ways to memorize the necessary material in a short time.

  • The method of rational memorization;

It is based on the use of logical memory. In the process of rational memorization, the semantic and logical connection of the material with life experience is consolidated in the consciousness. With rational memorization, an awareness of the read text occurs and information is more easily perceived. This method helps to memorize the material by heart, trains intellectual abilities and increases knowledge.

  • The way mnemotechnical memorization;

This is the most interesting of the three. It helps to remember non-semantic information, due to processing into images and associative connection. Mnemotechnical memorization is based on the experience gained, translating the text into images familiar to the mind. This method helps to remember a large amount of material that does not carry a semantic load. It can be dates, phone numbers, names, addresses. It helps to combat everyday forgetfulness, increasing the possibility of mechanically memorizing what is happening.

  • The method of mechanical storage.

This method involves memorizing the material. It is considered ineffective and difficult to train, as it can fail at any time, "falling out" of memory. With age, the ability to memorize deteriorates.

Memorization techniques

For quick assimilation of the text using different techniques of memorization. One of the most effective thoughtful reading method. It is well suited for memorizing large and small volumes. This way is used by actors who, like no one else, need to know how to quickly memorize a text.

  • First, we slowly and carefully read the text that you need to remember. Better read it out loud. When reading, you need to understand the main idea of \u200b\u200bthe text, its main plot, so that you can remember faster.
  • If the volume of the material is large, we break it into semantic parts. Each part must be learned separately, finding in them the most important words or phrases. This will help in the future, restore all text in order.
  • After that, you need to rewrite the entire text manually. This should be done slowly, delving into the essence of what is written.
  • After everything is rewritten, we retell what we remember. It is necessary to recall the smallest details, relying on keywords. If you can’t remember a moment, it’s better not to peek at the notes, but try to do it yourself. You can peek only as a last resort.
  • Next, we rewrite the second time only what we remembered without prompting.
  • At the last stage, we carefully re-read the text again and retell it. Better to do it before bedtime.

This method of memorization is suitable for learning the text verbatim. It will help students, school students and everyone who needs to know in a short time how to learn a large amount of information. In this way, theater and film actors use to remember their roles.

Tricks for quick memorization

There are a few simple but very effective tricks for memorizing the entire text, based on the nuances of our brain. To do this, you must:

  • Highlight the main points in the text with a bright marker;

This will allow you not to be distracted by the extra part of the text. Actors thus highlight their phrases in the script.

  • Sing words or text;

This is a non-standard method of remembering. Having sung the material, it is better to plunge into memory and it can be remembered faster.

  • You need to read until the meaning is completely clear;

It is very important to feel the feelings and emotions on yourself, if it is fiction that the characters experience.

  • After reading, you need to ask yourself questions about the content;
  • Read aloud with expression;
  • Write text with the other hand;

If you're left-handed, write right; if you're right-handed, write left. This tricky way will cause the brain to spend more effort analyzing all the written material.

  • Find a partner for training;

Actors rehearse in pairs, this helps in the work. You can also ask a friend to test you for knowledge of all the material. In the company, learning by heart is more interesting and much easier.

  • Record the text on the recorder;

Write down the text on the recording device and listen to it during the day, doing normal activities or during the trip. This will help to remember a voluminous text, without being distracted from other matters and without wasting extra time.

Memory needs to be constantly trained. Storing information consists of encoding it and sending it to a special department of the brain for further storage. If information is needed, then it is easy to remember. When it is not used for a long time, the brain will remove it as unnecessary. Forgetfulness is inherent in man; this happens after a certain time. This is a natural mechanism of the brain and it helps not to overload the brain with unnecessary information and if it is not used, then it disappears from memory over time.

The ability to remember key details of a future performance is a useful skill for any person. To memorize material quickly, it is necessary to exclude all external stimuli and create a working environment. For effective memorization, it is better to use several channels of perception and adhere to such an algorithm:

  • Read the entire text several times, delve into its meaning.
  • Use associations (remember the picture drawn by imagination while reading or listening).
  • Divide the material into logical parts and make a plan.
  • Write reference points or quotes to the paragraphs.
  • Retell each part separately, then combine the story.

If you need to learn the text verbatim:

  • If possible, listen to the audio version based on the print version.
  • Rewrite each paragraph of the text several times.
  • Paint over the end of sentences with the corrector and write in the missing words from memory. Reproduce material orally or in writing.

If the child remembers the text, you need to make the process as exciting as possible, using game techniques:

  • Replace some words with pictures and recreate the story. Gradually paint over new words and draw pictures in their place, each time retelling the material.
  • Make a copy of the text and cut into small pieces. Now you can assemble it as a puzzle, while reading the resulting sentences. The brighter and funnier the font, the better.
  • Complicate the task: miss a significant point or add unnecessary facts.

To quickly learn a large text, it is advisable:

  • Divide it into parts and work with each of them separately.
  • Make a plan of the story or enter the basic data into the table.
  • Repeat material regularly with short breaks.
  • Use multiple channels of perception (for example, visual and auditory).

Information interesting to the reader is stored automatically in memory. Text written in plain language is better suited to memorization. Complex material should be simplified as much as possible and all obscure points clarified.

Pictogram method

Pictograms are a way to replace words and sentences with pictures. To do this, you do not have to be an artist. The simpler and funnier the picture, the better. Children need visualization and interest, involvement in the process. In this case, these aspects are best combined.

Methodology:

  • Divide the large text into parts. Work the whole story with a little story.
  • Divide the board or piece into two. On the left, write down the numbered sentences, each with a new line.
  • Read sentences, make out new words.
  • Read each sentence separately, depicting it in the picture on the right. You can start by replacing individual words, gradually complicating the work.
  • Close the left side. Retell text over images an unlimited number of times.
  • Try retelling without relying on pictures.

When exploring the game - draw pictures yourself. Then, gradually, you can attract children. For adults, this method is also suitable if the material is presented in more or less simple language.

Using notes and exercises

This method is especially suitable for visuals (those who better perceive information through vision), but anyone can use it. The result will be anyway, just someone will need more time to achieve it.

Methodology:

  • Divide the text into several parts. Work with each part separately.
  • Read the first part, disassemble unfamiliar words and phrases.
  • Rewrite part of the text 1-2 times.
  • Use clerical proofreader to paint over individual phrases. Add them from memory. Check yourself.
  • Rewrite the text again. Paint over twice as many fragments. Fill in the blanks.
  • Repeat until you can fully reproduce the paragraph.
  • Put all the pieces together, retell the text verbally.

This work can be combined with listening (the method described above), then the result will be high-quality and long.

Repetition method

If there is very little time to study, but you need to quickly learn the text in English, you can use the technique of constant repetitions.

Methodology:

  • Write short excerpts on the sheets. Better to use bright markers of flashy colors.
  • Hang them around the house: above the kitchen table, in the bathroom, on the mirror in the hallway, on the balcony.
  • Visiting these places or just passing by, you will see: the look “hooks” on the proposals, and the read will be deposited in memory.

Of course, the technique itself will not work, but as an addition to other methods it will give a good result and speed up memorization.

Planning

If there is no task to learn the English text by heart, but you can convey everything in your own words, a detailed plan of the future story will help. It is important to understand the meaning of the text and understand what you are going to talk about, and the task must necessarily correspond to the level of language proficiency.

Methodology:

  • Read the text carefully, write out unfamiliar words.
  • Break the material down into logical parts (introduction, key thoughts and facts, ending).
  • Select strongholds. Make a detailed plan of each part. State it in the form of short abstracts, quotes, or questions.
  • Retell the text according to plan several times, looking at the original if necessary.
  • Retell the text without looking at the original, and then without using the plan.

Reference points in the form of quotes can be highlighted directly in the original text, underlining them with a pencil. And take your notes in the margins.

Associative map (mind map)

This is a map of thoughts that allows you to structure even very difficult to understand material. In a random style, a map of the read is depicted, on the basis of which the material is retold. This technique will be useful to those who need to quickly learn the text, but do not have to reproduce it verbatim. A vivid plan, where everything is laid out on shelves, prints well in memory.

Methodology:

  • Highlight the key issue. Write or draw it, circle it.
  • Depict secondary thoughts as branches in any direction. Someone draws right and left, someone from top to bottom. There are no restrictions.

You will get a detailed plan in a convenient format, based on which it is easy to retell the material in your own words. Those who like to draw, can replace the sentences with pictures. This will make the process more interesting and even help to memorize information better.

How to learn a text in English and remember it for a long time

Learning a native language occurs in a natural way. We remember what we hear in childhood, gradually accumulating knowledge and expanding vocabulary. When learning a foreign language, the approach changes and you have to consciously memorize words, phrases and texts. Consider several methods that can be modified and combined with each other.

Listening to an audio recording of text

Reception consists in listening and reading text at the same time and is very effective. The fact is that two channels of perception are involved at once: visual and auditory, which means that information is better absorbed. In modern English textbooks, almost every text can be heard. If an excerpt from a work is given, an audiobook will help.

Methodology:

  • Read the text and write out all the unfamiliar words and phrases.
  • Listen to the story in parts and at the same time follow your eyes through the text.
  • Pause after each sentence and repeat after the announcer. This will help not only to remember each of them well, but also to work out the pronunciation.
  • Listen to the audio version in any free time: in transport, while walking, before going to bed. You will not notice how everything is deposited in memory.
  • Repeat listening as many times as you need to remember.

The more often you listen to audio, the better. It all depends on the length of the text, its complexity and available time. The method is also useful for correcting pronunciation. If you are not sure how to pronounce a particular word, listening to well-read sentences will be very useful.
