Opening a clothing repair shop. How to open a clothing repair shop

A business at an atelier for tailoring and repairing clothes can recoup the initial investment in six months, after which it will bring the owner about 100 thousand rubles. monthly income. Such a project can become a way out for those who know how to sew and want to open a sewing studio, or it can turn into a good family business.

 • What documents are needed to open a tailoring and repair shop?
 • Optimal taxation system
 • Why can't you open a studio at home?

How to start opening an atelier for tailoring and repairing clothes

The first thing to determine before opening a tailoring and repair shop is its location. There are several approaches, namely:

 • locate the studio in a crowded place, for example, a shopping center;
 • provide services for tailoring and repairing clothes in a residential area of the city.

Supporters of the first approach argue that if the atelier is located in a shopping center, then the flow of customers is higher. When shopping, people immediately try to fit new clothes to themselves, which is why they turn to the seamstress, who is located in the same building.

It really is. To see this, just look at the workload of studios located in crowded places: in clothing markets, near (or inside) department stores and shopping centers.

Supporters of the second approach argue that not everyone has time to give the purchased items to the studio, which are located near the place of purchase. In addition, even more often it is required to repair previously purchased clothes. Going to the center specifically for this is extremely inconvenient. In such cases, studios located in residential areas are very helpful.

The advantage of the second approach is that the cost of rent is lower than in the city center. If for a room of 12-18 m 2 in a shopping center you have to pay 35-60 thousand rubles. per month or more, then in a residential area renting a similar room will cost 1.5-2 times cheaper.

Another approach to starting a business is buying a franchise. The positive thing about this approach is that you have to go through the steps proposed by the franchisor, which have previously led to the success of more than one enterprise. There is no need to figure out how to open an atelier for tailoring and repairing clothes, you just need to follow all the recommendations, each of which has already been tested in practice.

Many people believe that buying a franchise only increases the initial investment. But if you calculate how much the entrepreneur’s mistakes will cost when launching a project and bringing it to the estimated profit, then these costs can be several times higher than starting a franchise business.

Although an entrepreneur may draw up a very detailed business plan before opening his atelier, in reality this document will have to be adjusted to one degree or another. And if the business owner is also new to this business or has little idea of business processes, then the real numbers will differ greatly from the calculated ones.

This is what happens when a seamstress becomes an entrepreneur who does her job well, but has a very vague idea of how to organize and promote a business. As a result, she has to comprehend this order, making mistakes that are expressed in loss of income.

How much can you earn in a tailoring and repairing atelier?

The owner of the project must take over its promotion. It's good when he knows all the production moments. But he needs this not in order to fulfill orders himself, but in order to optimize the business based on this knowledge.

Expect that 1 order will bring an average of 300 rubles. If there are 10-15 orders per day, the company will receive 90-135 thousand rubles. In the best case, taking into account the monthly costs, the profit of the enterprise will be 40 thousand rubles. Already with 20 orders per day, the income of the enterprise can be from 50 to 95 thousand rubles.

The task of a businessman is to provide the necessary number of orders that will allow the company to receive a profit of 100 thousand rubles. and more. Sales of fabrics and accessories bring additional profit, so the project can be organized as an atelier-shop.

Remember that before you open an atelier from scratch, it is recommended that you consider this project as a business, and not as a workplace at home.

This approach will require more investment, it incurs more regular costs, but the entrepreneur has more room for maneuver.

If you want to open a mini-studio for repairing clothes, then, of course, you must have skills in sewing. It is best if you have received a special education. Although today the basics of cutting and sewing can be learned in courses, and even on your own. The main thing is that you are not one or the one for whom it is difficult to sew even a button, and such people, says the heroine of our article, an experienced tailor and owner of a mini-studio Lyubov Domracheva, are often met.

Love for this business is also important, because it is known that the skill of a seamstress or tailor requires patience and perseverance. Are you ready to do this every day for many hours? You should also consider the difference between tailors and seamstresses. A tailor is one who knows how to cut, draw up drawings and make patterns. Consequently, he has a better understanding of how things are sewn and can suggest more repair and tailoring options. A seamstress, as a rule, does not have such a high qualification.

Lyubov Domracheva

I studied at the lyceum for four years, where I mastered the basics of cutting, sewing, designing, and learned to understand fabrics. For an atelier, it is good to be able to sew both outerwear and light clothing. Although many people stop only at light clothing, because it is difficult to work with furs and leather, but I undertake. The creative component is important in our work. Creativity is needed even in repairs: there are many options, how to fix a hole in a jacket, which one is best? Sometimes other masters send their clients to me with the words: "She will figure out how to do it."

Also, to create a mini-studio, you need to have an artistic taste and a desire to improve, study new fashion trends, see what is best for the client, be able to advise, choose the fabric, style.

How to assess the potential market, demand? There is always a demand for the services of a clothing repair studio, even in the smallest towns and poor areas.

Repair studio services are especially in demand during economically turbulent times. Older people and pensioners do not dare to afford new clothes, so they bring them to the atelier for alteration: to shorten the length according to modern fashion, to change the collar. But you need to be prepared for the whims of customers.

One grandfather brought a jacket - sackcloth, wooden pork skin, fur from Soviet times. At first I wanted to insert a zipper, then shorten it, then sew on the pockets. He spent about 2 thousand rubles on all this, he could have added another thousand and bought himself a new jacket, but ... the thing is dear to his heart, still his father's.

How can you beat your competitors and attract people to you? At first, the heroine of our article says, only dumping, dropping prices - then the people will go. And the prices in the mini-studio today are very different: in the outlying areas from 20 rubles for sewing on a button or sewing up a small hole (they bring this too!), To 5-6 thousand rubles, if alteration of a fur coat is required. In areas where renting premises is more expensive, the cost of services will be 2-3 times higher.

At first, I would advise you to open a clothing repair shop. Because it takes a lot of time to sew clothes: take measurements, choose a model, fabric, accessories, make patterns, then numerous fittings, the whims of a client who wants to remake one thing or another ... And what will the atelier live on all this time ? If you want to start earning from the first day, then it is better to do repairs. In addition, a tailoring studio needs more people (at least three people), more machines - and hence more initial investment.

If you open a mini clothing repair shop, be prepared for a variety of clients to come to you. Sometimes even schoolchildren come to our heroine, who were given the task of sewing an apron during labor lessons. Teenagers come in, whose jacket zipper breaks every now and then. Senior citizens are the most frequent visitors. Young women come in - to shorten, alter dresses, skirts, trousers. And do not think that rich people do not repair their clothes - there are such clients.

Investment size

Personal experience

When I opened two years ago, I had only 20 thousand rubles. I bought one sewing machine for 10,000, brought two of my machines and an iron from home, and paid 5,000 rubles for rent.

There is also an opportunity to receive financial assistance to start a business through the labor exchange. In Kazan, at present, after the approval of the business plan, the state issues 120 thousand rubles (excluding taxes), and the requirements are such that for two years you do not have the right to close, and you also need to periodically submit reports. With the money received, you can buy more expensive cars, as well as consumables (threads, needles, etc.).

Rent in remote areas of Kazan now costs 500 rubles per 1 sq.m., in areas with developed infrastructure - 1000 rubles per 1 sq.m. The smallest room for an atelier is 3 by 3 meters. But keep in mind that the smaller the room, the less cars you can put in it, so 10-12 squares are best: a visitor trying on a thing will also feel comfortable here.

First of all, you will need to buy one industrial machine (it costs about 20 thousand rubles), one overlock machine (also about 20 thousand rubles) and one household machine for zigzags and loops (up to 10 thousand rubles).

If you want to work with furs and leather, then you can also buy cars for them in the future (second-hand ones will be cheaper). A sewing machine for knitted materials is very useful, the industrial version costs about 70 thousand rubles.

So, the minimum investment in opening a mini-atelier for repairing clothes is 50 thousand rubles. This is taking into account the fact that you will bring a table, iron, lamps for lighting from home.

Lyubov Domracheva

The first month I worked only for rent, while there was no clientele. If possible, you can distribute business cards, hang ads. But word of mouth works best. If from the very beginning you prove yourself a good master, if you do not refuse, do it quickly and on time, then people will come to you.

What are the running costs of this business? If you work alone, then most of the money goes to rent. Consumables (threads, needles, trouser tape, zippers, dublerin) are purchased every six months or a year, and they spend a little in wholesale warehouses - 2-3 thousand rubles. If you have employees, then add 10-15 thousand rubles of salary per person to the costs.

Step-by-step instruction

Although the mini-studio is a small business, it also has relationships with suppliers. Having learned about your existence, merchants of various accessories, fabrics, zippers and so on can come to you. You can negotiate with them and periodically buy the necessary goods. You can also establish cooperation with wholesale bases and shops.

The promotion and development of any business in the service sector, and a mini-studio is no exception, depends on the quality of work and the conscientiousness of its performer.

The mini-studio is quite suitable for working alone, but if you feel able and have a lot of clients, you can hire more employees. For example, our heroine has an assistant. You can search for employees through acquaintances, through job sites and classifieds sites. It is difficult to immediately understand how qualified a specialist came for an interview.

Personal experience

One girl told me that she also opened an atelier, but she did not succeed. I thought: it means that a person knows how to sew well. But it turned out that the person overestimated himself too much, she could not do elementary things.

Be prepared for the fact that very few young people aspire to work in the studio. Today this profession is not attractive to young people. Specialized lyceums graduate seamstresses and tailors, but most of them do not work in their specialty.

Lyubov Domracheva

owner of a mini clothing repair shop

One woman worked for me, and it happened that she did something wrong, but did not want to redo it and said: “Customers still don’t know how it should be right!” I do not agree with this approach. The client sees everything. Once my worker was lining a fur coat, everything turned out well, I checked, but the client immediately realized that it was not me who did it.

How to organize work? You can take orders and work at least every day, if you have the strength and time. Of course, such a schedule is convenient when two people work.

Where is the best place to open? It is clear that for successful work, a mini-studio needs to be opened in places with high traffic. Nearby there should be many outlets, a market, a shopping center, hairdressers and so on. The atelier should be located near residential buildings - so that it is convenient for people to enter from home. Moreover, it doesn’t matter if you open in the shopping arcade, rent a room on the first floor of a high-rise building or stay in a trailer, it is important that people can easily find you there.

There are no special requirements for the premises. Start from ergonomics and your own ideas about convenience. Well, of course, remember that the first impression you make on the client plays a big role.

Documentation

To get started, you need to register an IP. All registration costs will amount to about 2 thousand rubles, and it will take about a week to complete the registration. It is best to open as an individual entrepreneur and pay tax on imputed income (about 28 thousand rubles a year if you work alone).

Opening checklist

Is it profitable to open

Today there is no problem with buying ready-made clothes, but most people still prefer custom tailoring. And this is not surprising, because tailor-made clothes always fit better than purchased ones. In addition, by sewing a dress or suit in an atelier, you will definitely be sure that they are in one copy. Demand, as you know, gives rise to offers, and many people who know how and love to sew are thinking about their own business. How to open a studio? We understand the issue.

Atelier as a business

Let's start with the fact that you should not expect big profits from the studio at the initial stage. First you will need to equip a tailoring workshop with everything you need, and this will not be so cheap. The costs depend on what you plan to do and what kind of equipment you decide to buy or rent. But, in any case, the investment will be quite an impressive amount. At the same time, the project will pay for itself in about a year, since this business is not one of the most profitable areas.

If we are only talking about repairing clothes, then you can get by with a small room and a couple of sewing machines. After all, in order to replace a zipper, shorten trousers, fit a dress, neither a large staff of workers nor special equipment is needed. So it’s more correct to think about how to open a mini-atelier, because when organizing such a repair shop, the main thing is to choose the right place and provide services of proper quality. Then you can count on a stable income in the range of 75 - 90 thousand rubles a month.

Well, if we talk about a full-fledged atelier, then it’s worth first clarifying: it will be a wide-profile atelier or a narrow-profile workshop that will specialize in only one direction (for example, in tailoring uniforms). For a wide-profile atelier, you will need more diverse professional equipment, as well as different specialists: seamstresses, cutters, fashion designers. To increase the profitability of the atelier, experts recommend combining several types of services (for example, tailoring of outerwear, clothing repair, tailoring of bags and tailoring of uniforms) and attracting universal specialists.

We draw up documents

So, as soon as you have decided on the specialization of the atelier and considered all production issues, you need to draw up documents. You need to do this in the following order:

 1. Decide on the organizational and legal form of the enterprise, rent or purchase premises and undergo state registration. But before that, you should decide what you will register: or individual entrepreneurship. In this case, it is more expedient, since it is much easier for an individual entrepreneur to maintain accounting and tax reporting.
 2. Choose . The choice depends on what exactly you plan to do: tailoring, repair or several areas. As mentioned above, it is better to choose a mixed direction, which means that the codes should be as follows: 93.5 Provision of other personal services to the population (main), 8.2 Production of clothing from textile materials and clothing accessories, 18.21 - production of workwear, 18.22 - production of outerwear, 18.24 - production of other clothing and accessories, 52.74 - repair of household and personal items not included in other groups.
 3. Register with the territorial body of the Pension Fund.
 4. Obtain a work permit from Rospotrebnadzor.
 5. Obtain a permit to work in a specific premises of the State Fire Supervision Authority.
 6. Buy or rent equipment.
 7. Find staff (unless, of course, you plan to use employees).
 8. Organize advertising.

Where will the studio be: we evaluate the real places of deployment

Even at the stage of business planning, it is worth looking for a suitable room for the atelier. If you have to choose between buying and renting, then at first it is better to prefer renting, because you do not know how the business will go. You need to rent a room in a place where there is a constant flow of potential customers. For example, in a shopping center. Or you can go the opposite way and open a clothing repair shop or a small workshop in a residential area. A good option is to open an atelier near fabric or clothing stores.

As for the area, at first you can get by with a small room (about 15-20 square meters), which can be located on the basement floor of a residential building, next to a shoe repair or key making workshop. The proximity of other workshops can play into the hands, because people who come to repair shoes can stop by the atelier along the way.

So, when choosing a place, you need to be guided by two criteria: the price of rent (it should not be too high, the best option is 40-50 thousand rubles for 15-20 square meters) and the high traffic of potential customers.

Necessary equipment

As for the equipment for the atelier, today there are a lot of necessary and modern devices on sale. But there is no point in buying them all. It is necessary to clearly define the list of equipment, without which it will be impossible to do, and purchase (or rather rent) only the most necessary. In order to start working, you will need:

 • a straight-line sewing machine that will be used for basic sewing and repair work (you should choose professional models that perform twenty or more operations). Such equipment will cost about 18-20 thousand rubles;
 • overlock for processing edges and seams. Buying a quality overlock will cost about 12-14 thousand rubles;
 • hemming machine, which is used for hemming the bottom of trousers and skirts;
 • an ironing board and a good steam iron (in time, if the business goes well, you can also purchase an ironing press);
 • fitting room (it is better to choose a screen or just fence off a corner in the room with a curtain and hang a mirror there);
 • cutting table;
 • accessories: cutting scissors, rippers, needles, patterns, rulers, threads, zippers, thimbles, measuring tapes, etc.

When buying equipment, you need to pay attention to its reliability and versatility. If you decide to buy a used sewing machine, be prepared for the fact that you will have to pay for its repair and adjustment.

Other equipment

Do not forget that if you decide to open a tailoring studio, then in addition to professional sewing equipment, you will also need some furniture and, of course, lighting fixtures. As for furniture, here you need to pay attention to comfortable chairs for seamstresses and furniture for a place of rest for staff and visitors, as well as hangers, hangers, mannequins (if you are going to sew clothes from scratch).

You will definitely need high-quality lamps that need to be installed in workplaces, bright ceiling lights and, of course, fire extinguishers (their number depends on the area of the room).

You also need to take care of forms with end-to-end numbering, which will replace the cash register. After all, receiving money for services from clients, you have to write out receipts.

Personnel decides everything

A crafts vendor embroiders a woman’s name on a bonnet being purchased during the Apple Blossom Festival at South Mountain Fairground, Route 234, Arendtsville PA. 2008-05-03.

Asking the question: is it profitable to open an atelier, most individual entrepreneurs understand that a lot depends on the level of the masters who will work in it. Therefore, it is necessary to pay maximum attention to the selection of personnel. The best option is experienced people who are well known to you, who can not only sew perfectly, but also communicate with customers. If there are none, you can hire employees on the recommendation of your colleagues or good friends. If there are problems with this, then it is worth posting information about the vacancy where it can be seen by those who interest you, for example, in a college where seamstresses are trained. No need to be afraid to hire newcomers, they often demonstrate a good level of proficiency in the profession. But, when recruiting unfamiliar employees, it is better, nevertheless, to set a trial period for them.

As for the number of seamstresses, it all depends on the direction of the atelier. If we are talking about repair, fitting and individual tailoring, then for a start it is better to hire two people and set them a minimum salary and an additional payment - a percentage of the atelier's revenue. Gradually, if the business goes well, it will be possible to expand the staff.

We have opened!

Before the opening, you need to hang a bright sign that will attract attention, and put up advertising posters on the nearest streets. It would be nice to organize the distribution of flyers offering discounts to first customers. This will be enough to get you started, but what you should think about carefully is the time of work.

As a rule, ateliers are open from 9.00 to 20.00, so that people can enter the establishment on their way home from work. But it is better to focus on your potential consumer. Most clothing repair shops accept 10-15 orders per day (the cost of one repair order is from 100 to 300 rubles, depending on the complexity of the work, and individual tailoring of clothes will cost 1500-3000 per unit). But, of course, it matters where the studio is located. To increase the flow of customers, you can arrange with the nearest clothing stores so that, if necessary, consultants will recommend your atelier to those who need to fit ready-made clothes. Everyone will benefit from this: the store will sell goods and receive revenue, and your atelier will customize the purchased clothes and also receive revenue.

Issue price

Having decided on all the components of the business, you can make simple calculations to understand how much it costs to open an atelier and how profitable such a business is. So, you open a small atelier that occupies one room with an area of about 20 square meters, which employs two seamstresses, a cutter and manager/hostess (with the function of chief accountant). Let's start with costs:

Now let's calculate the planned income:

Based on the calculations, it can be seen that all costs will pay off within the first year of operation. Of course, this calculation is approximate, because the success of a business depends on the demand and quality of services. As for the initial investment, they will be:

So, to summarize: the creation of a small studio will require 170,000 rubles, and the project will pay off in about a year.

Can a woman raise her own business on her own? How to open a successfully developing, promising sewing studio and make it competitive in a provincial town?

Our interlocutor, Svetlana Nikolaevna Antonova, the owner of her own sewing studio "Christina" located on the main street of the city of Usman.

- Hello Svetlana. Tell us how it all started?

I did not study at any specialized educational institution as a seamstress, tailor, clothes designer and other professions related to sewing. There just came a time, back in school, when I wanted to do it. So I started sewing and have been sewing for 20 years now.

At first, I sewed according to ready-made patterns, then the popular Burda magazine came out, and I already took something from there, learned something on my own.

- How did you decide to open your own atelier for tailoring and repairing clothes?

I worked for many years at a local garment factory as a pattern cutter and learned a lot there. Then she got a job at the Victoria L garment factory, but already as a clothing designer. The time has come, and I realized that it was time to open my own business.

- How to open a tailoring studio from scratch? Where did you start?

Sewing studio, a business that requires a significant investment. To begin with, I decided to take an increased subsidy from the state to support business - 300,000 rubles.

It is very important to note here that this was the first year when not only novice entrepreneurs under 30, but also those over 30 could receive this money. And I got into this wave very successfully.

- Here, if possible, in more detail. What documents did you collect to receive a subsidy? I know that for such a high amount, there is a very big competition. Do you need to submit a detailed business plan for a tailor shop?

Indeed, I should have

 • Register with the employment center as unemployed;
 • To issue the status of IP;
 • Create a well-calibrated tailoring and repair of clothes;
 • Submit all these documents to the district administration for approval to receive funds.

- To know how to open an atelier, is a business plan required or is it only needed to approve a subsidy?

Of course, the program implies many nuances that every novice entrepreneur should know. Otherwise, the business is simply doomed. This is a kind of cheat sheet, a hint on how to run your business so as not to burn out.

For example, a worker helped me figure out the following issues:

 • What premises are required to open the atelier I have planned;
 • How many people need to be hired in order to process the estimated number of orders;
 • Agree, in each region, different situations. It happens that a dozen workers are hired in the atelier, and they will sit idle for a couple of weeks, waiting for them to bring some trousers to be hemmed. And sometimes the demand is such that even these 10 people are not enough. That is, it is also very difficult to calculate;
 • A set of regulatory norms of laws, requirements for the premises;
 • Analysis of competitiveness, since we have about 3-4 sewing workshops in our city;
 • Calculation of the funds and expenses required for the start;
 • Approximate terms for which I will pay back the invested money and be able to develop my business.

- Did you download a ready-made business plan for a tailoring studio in the form of a template, on the Internet, or did you contact a consulting agency for data processing?

Neither one nor the other. For a long time and carefully I studied on the Internet how to correctly draw up a work program, consulted with experts in this field.

I drew up a draft business plan on my own, as I already roughly represented the main figures of my expenses and knew exactly in which direction we would develop. Then, I took my draft to the analyst and he, in turn, processed it into a ready-made, working business plan.

In the studio "Kristina" from the city of Usman, real professionals work in their field

- Did you receive a subsidy? What did you spend on?

Yes, sure. I received money. Spent on the purchase of equipment, sewing machines.

- Did you buy the equipment "by hand" or in a store?

In the shop. All machines and machines are brand new. It was possible to buy used, now a lot of ads can be found on the Internet, in newspapers. But then spending a lot of money on their repair + losing orders due to equipment downtime is somehow inappropriate.

- Did you have enough money from the subsidy to open an atelier?

Of course no. It is only loudly said - "here, we received these 300,000 rubles." Of course, this was not enough even for the initial needs. We bought more fabrics, equipment, accessories, threads and much more.

Photo of related products sold in the shop of the sewing studio "Kristina"

- How much money did it take you to open an atelier?

Initially, about a million rubles were spent. This is if you consider that I started with my accumulated fittings. If it were necessary to buy more and it - 2,000,000, it would definitely take.

- How did you find the place? Did you buy it or are you renting it with an option to buy?

I do not think that in Usman there is a practice of lease with the right to purchase. I initially decided that I would buy the building, as I understood that the rent would cost me a significant overpayment.

Of course, it was possible, as well-known business women write in many magazines - “here, I started sewing somewhere at home or in the basement, first by myself, then I hired 1 more seamstress ...

The first floor of the building in which we are located was sold as an ordinary residential unit. I also had to collect documents in order to transfer it from the housing stock to non-residential, as required by law. With all the decoration, the building cost me a little over a million rubles.

Creative approach and creativity distinguish the products of the Kristina studio

- There are many such studios in the city. How did you make your business competitive in these conditions?

To begin with, we carefully studied what our competitors offer and created in our atelier a lot of advantageous points, for example:

 • Other workshops offer a limited range of services - it's either just tailoring, creating some specific models, designing, repairing. One or two items from this list. We, however, decided to combine everything at once - we sew clothes according to ready-made patterns, sketches of the customer or offer our own, repair things, make any kind of clothes - from work uniforms to chic wedding dresses;
 • We are the only ones who have showcases that display products that can also be ordered from us, such as spectacular sofa cushions;
 • There is a showcase with inexpensive quality goods, for young craftswomen - beads, threads, locks, buttons;
 • We also make original gift souvenirs, appliqué paintings, kanzashi.

- I saw very interesting reticules in your window. Are they home made too?

Yes, we make bags according to our own drawings and you can also buy them. They are in great demand, as they are original, and we can make an exclusive handbag in an ensemble with a suit, which, you see, is important for every woman.

- Tell me, have you already paid off your business? Has he started making money?

How can I tell you ... I have a room, purchased with a mortgage loan. The atelier is only 2 years old and, of course, I still pay off the loan.

In this sense, the business pays off, as you said - many people rent the premises, but I own it. Of course, there is profit, but so far, at the moment, almost all of it goes into expanding the business, for example, the purchase of consumables - accessories, threads.

Video about another owner of a sewing studio

- I heard about your masters, a lot of positive feedback. Your studio, despite the fact that it is still relatively young, is considered one of the best in the city of Usman

Well, at least we are definitely not sitting without work. We, including me, employ 5 masters. There are a lot of orders and they are very diverse - here, for example, we recently sewed a chic wedding dress to order.

- What would you like to wish-advise to novice entrepreneurs who are just wondering how to open a clothing repair and tailoring atelier?

I wish you patience. You need to stock up on an unprecedented amount of patience and wait more than one year until their business starts to pay off. 2 years is the minimum.

The real history of creating an inexpensive business plan can be found in this interesting article:

A large number of cases of creating highly profitable businesses from existing entrepreneurs can be read

You can select, download or buy a working business plan for any business in this catalog:

Here is my business, it will be 2 years only in the summer, and although we are developing steadily, there is no significant profit so that I can afford to buy an expensive car or an apartment in the center of Moscow, of course, not yet.

However, I am at work all the time. This is daily hard work. During the day I am engaged in sewing, and at night I make crafts, gift souvenirs. Nothing comes easy.

In addition, success depends again on the region. Before you start, you should carefully study the needs of the population, market saturation, conduct an analysis of competitiveness, evaluate your own strength and patience.

- Heard you want to open a needlework school?

Yes, the girls-masters and I dream of opening a small school where everyone could learn sewing skills, decoupage, kanzashi technique.

- What are your plans for the future?

Pay off the loan and begin to slowly expand production. I am sure that even in such a small town as Usman, there are enough prospects for this.

 • What documents are needed
 • What equipment is required
 • How to attract customers

Multi-colored dresses and sundresses, light windbreakers and jackets with fur, children's suits and pajamas with appliqués - which is just not available in modern stores and shopping centers. But even with such an abundance, there will always be those who want to sew a dress or suit to order, especially since the price / quality ratio today leaves much to be desired, since either inexpensive goods from China are sold on the market, or clothing prices are unreasonably high. Finding a really high-quality and stylish thing is not so easy. It is even more difficult to choose clothes for a person with a non-standard figure. Therefore, the sewing studio remains relevant in small towns and cities. Another thing is that only real professionals can run this business, who not only have an idea about the sewing business, but know all the secrets and nuances of the sewing business.

Sewing business: where to start

You need to start by studying the market and determining the services that the studio can provide.
