Google Corporation: Success Story, Google Shares on the stock exchange. How to work in Google free delicacies and endless snacks

15 Every day 16% of all requests in Google search engine are unique. This means that they have never met earlier. Every minute, Google produces 2 million search queries, and for the year the search engine processes more than 2 trillions of requests (approximately 270 per person on Earth).

1. Google, Gogle, Google ...

Google owns many domains in order to minimize the number of errors when entering. Some of the examples are Google, Gogle, Google ...

2. Google Doodle

Today, everyone knows Google Doodle - postcards on the occasion of significant events that appear on the Google Main Page. And the first "Dudle" was dedicated to the Burning Man's festival, in which Page and Brin participated in 1998.

3. Social guarantees

When Google is dying, the spouse / wife of the deceased pay half of the salary of this employee for 10 years. And children pay $ 1,000 per month until they are 19 years old.

4. Electronic libraries

Today, electronic libraries are very popular. Google once again plans to surpass everyone and is going to scan all known 129 million unique books until 2020.

5. Record error

Interestingly, Google's name was registered by mistake. The creators sealed in the word "googol", which indicates a unit with 100 zeros.

6. Fragment of the Global Internet

On August 16, 2013, Google Server fell for 5 minutes. At this time, the global Internet has occurred by 40%. Another example of the significance of the company in a global scale is that in 2010 Nicaragua's troops accidentally invaded Costa Rica due to an error in Google Maps.

7. Gmail.

Since Gmail's mail was first launched on April 1, 2004, many people considered that it was a joke for a fool's day. Moreover, Gmail immediately immediately provided users with an incredible 1 GB to users. And in 2004, Hotmail offered a mailbox of only 2MB.

8. Traffic on Google Maps

Only one search query in Google requires more computing power than it took to send Apollo 11 to the moon. Also, few people know that road traffic on Google Maps is calculated by tracking how fast devices running on the Android operating system are moving on the roads.

9. Calico is immortality.

Google since 2010 acquires an average of 2 companies per month. And in 2013, Google founded Calico - a company that conducts development in the field of "fight against age" and hopes to ultimately "cure" death.

10. First LEGO Server Case

The body of the first Google server was made of ... LEGO. And today, Google develops "artificial intelligence" - a computer that can program itself. It is also interesting that the total size of the Google Earth database is more than 20 petabytes.

11. Site in the Language of Klingon

The next fact will make the triumph of all guys. Google has a version of its site translated into the tongue of the Klingon ... a fictional alien civilization from Star Trek.

12. I'm lucky!

Google offers employees free condoms that are painted in blue, red, green and yellow (colors of the company emblem). Also, they are printed slogan "I'm lucky!".

13. "BACKRUB"

Google was originally called "backrub". In 1999, Google founders actually tried to sell his Excite company for only $ 1 million, but Excite refused to acquire. It is also interesting that a woman who passed his garage Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1998, while they created their company, later became the CEO of Youtube.

14. YouTube.

Google purchased YouTube for $ 1.65 billion in just 18 months after YouTube was created. What is interesting, YouTube is the second largest search engine, immediately after Google, and more requests are recorded every day than in Bing, Yahoo! And Ask, combined.

Abstract.
The Article Described the Organizational Forms of Training (Frontal, Group, Individual), Unlock The Potential of The Service Google Docs for the Organization of Group Forms of Work. The Experience of Using The Service Google Docs for Group Work Sessions on the example of "Introduction to the Database".

In modern didactics, the following organizational forms of training are distinguished: frontal, group and individual.

Frontal form of training Characterized by the joint educational and educational activities of all students, a single tempo of the whole class. The effectiveness of this organizational form of training depends on the mastery of the teacher to keep the entire class in the field of view and see each student. Inevitable, the consequence of this organizational form is the orientation on the "average" student, as a result of which some students are lagging behind the specified common rate of educational and cognitive activity, while others frankly bored.

In comparison with the frontal form of training individual training has direct ability characteristics. An individual organizational form is focused on the individual features of a specific student, its ability, an individual pace of educational and cognitive activity. Individual training does not imply contact with other participants in the pedagogical process, in fact it is an independent execution of any learning tasks. As a result, smoothing the main "lack" of the frontal form of training here entails another - the lack of communication between the participants of the pedagogical process, the inability of students to work in the team.

Allow the resulting contradiction is designed group form training. This organizational form allows not only individually to regulate the volume and pace of academic work, but also makes it possible to organize joint activities of members of one group. The group form of training allows the learning process to give the nature of the search, research activities, during which there is an exchange of views, the search for objective arguments in defense of any position, the formation of the ability of the interconnection and the intercomaction of the educational and cognitive activity.

However, it should be noted that the group form of learning will be really effective, provided that students have experience in the group. Unfortunately, today the group form of training is not widespread and occupies a very modest place among other organizational forms.

Currently, the expansion of the borders of the use of a group organizational form contributes to the use of information technologies in the educational process. They allow "more actively compared to ordinary classes to organize cognitive activities, to influence such psychological processes as perception, thinking, memorization, assimilation of information." This article will show the experience of organizing group work using the Google DocS service.

Google Docs. - This is a free online office that includes text and tabular processors, a service for creating presentations, shapes, drawings, and other applications, as well as the Internet files of cloud storage files with file sharing functions developed by Google. Describe a number his advantages.

1. The service allows you to immediately start working with online office applications If at the moment the application package has not been installed on the working computer, while the documents created documents are saved on a special Google server and can be exported to a file (and import documents are supported).

2. The service allows multiple users to work simultaneously with the same document, which makes it possible to effectively organize the joint work of a group of people (including physically remote from each other). Wherein:

- All changes in the process of working together with the document are displayed in real time in the place where editing is edited, and the "Save" button on the toolbar in the applications is missing, all changes are saved automatically. The documents are taken into account the history of change with the possibility of opening them in the preview mode or download to the computer;

- Chat is available in the sidebar, so the document you can discuss, the text comment on users is also available;

- Document access rights are easy to manage: you can open a documented document, as well as add a user and specify its access level (editing, commenting, reading) (Fig. 1); User contacts are easy to combine into groups, which makes the distribution of rights over the document more operational.

Figure 1 - Dialog box Access access to the document in the Google Docs service

3. It is supported by Google Document Synchronization with a Google Disk folder on your computer, subject to the Google Drive application, which allows you to edit documents not only online, but also in offline mode.

In addition to expressed, I would like to add that the Google Docs service has an intuitive interface and has a Russian-speaking reference manual: https://support.google.com/drive/?hl=en#topic=14940.

As an example illustrating the use of the Google Docs service features to organize group work in the educational process, we will present an audit on the topic "Introduction to the database".

This occupation was conducted as part of the discipline "Computer Software" on the 2nd year in students of the specialty "Mathematics and Informatics" at the Institute of Physical and Mathematics Education of the Altai State Pedagogical University. This discipline is a course of choice and aims to form a systemic knowledge of students about modern computer software. According to the discipline working program, the topic of the Database Management System is considered after studying the following topics: "LibreOffice Writer text processor", "LibreOffice Math formula" editor, "LibreOffice Calc" processor, "LibreOffice Impress presentation editor", "Graphic editor LibreOffice Draw " The formation of practical skills of working with the database management system was carried out with the help of the DBMS LibreOffice Base.

The lesson submitted below was the first practical occupation of students after the leased lecture material on the "database management system".

It should be noted that the Google Docs service was used for the first time, although some students in the group were already familiar with him earlier. With the aim of a more optimal organization of work at the lesson, it was advisable before it began to ask for all students to register with Google and inform your account, which was done. After that, a text document was created with accounts of all students in the group and open access to everyone to read this document.

Subject lesson: "Introduction to the database".

Duration: 2 hours.

Wait for a neighbor on the left to open you access to edit your text document and answer him to the question about the date of your birthday.

5. Group work

Students are divided into groups of 3-4 people. In each group are determined speaker, opponent, expert.Speaker It occupies a leading position, organizes the collaboration of the small group. Opponenttracks the content of the work, formulates questions on the proposed information. Expertforms an appraisal judgment based on the results of the Group's work, compares the work of the group with the work of other groups.

First task for groups (theoretical)

Together, prepare a presentation whose slides will contain answers to the theoretical questions on the "database" topic (Table 1). When preparing the presentation, use lectures offered to you educational literature, Internet.

2. Stages of creating a database.

3. Definition of the database management system.

4. Types of objects in the BASE DBMS (tables, requests, form, reports).

After completing the work, open access to read the designed presentation to all students in the group. Working hours of the presentation: 12-15 minutes.

An important result of the work on the first task is stages of creating a database:

1) Defining the Database Creating Goal (At this stage, it is necessary to determine the database assignment as it will be used which information it must contain);

2) Defining tables that must contain a database(The definition of the tables necessary in the database may be the most difficult stage of the database design process, since the results that should issue a database: reports, forms, etc. - do not always give a complete picture of the structure of the tables by which they are created.

Basic principles for developing tables:

- information should not be duplicated in the table or between the tables;

- data stored only in one table is updated only in this table, thereby eliminating the ability to duplicate records;

- each table must contain information only on one topic (work independently of other topics);

3) Determining the fields required in the table(Each table contains information on a specific topic, and each field in the table contains a specific fact on the topic of the table, and: the contents of the fields should be divided into the smallest logical units, it is not recommended to include the data in the table that are the result of the expression);

4) defining fields with unique values in each record(Each database table must contain fields or a set of fields unambiguously defining each entry, that is, the primary key);

5) Definition of ties between tables(after splitting information on the tables and definitions of key fields, you must select the method to which the DBMS will combine related information);

6) Improving the structure of the database(you need to see the structure of the database and identify possible shortcomings);

7) data entry and the creation of other bd objects(If the table structures meet the requirements, you can enter all the data, and then create all the necessary queries, forms and reports).

Second task for groups (practical)

Develop the structure of the database tables (Table 2), key fields and install communication between the tables. Work. Tell the scheme on the last slide of your presentation (Fig. 2). For the fields of each table, specify their type (Table 3, 4).

Working hours on the task: 15 minutes.

After that, the speaker of each group comments on the work of its group, opponents of other groups set questions on the proposed information. At the end, experts are experts, evaluate the results of the work.

6. HOME TASK

Develop a database structure in its individual task (in the individual task, students were offered only the subject area of the database).

7. Summing up the lessons

1. What was for you the most difficult in class?

2. What was the easiest to class for you?

3. Did you have difficulties in organizing work in the group?

4. Have you ever since working with Google Docs?

5. How would you rate on a five-point scale of Google Docs for organizing collaboration?

In conclusion, I would like to make several conclusions:

- Students did not have difficulty with work in the Google Docs service, but difficulties arose when working in the group, because This organizational form of training was unusual for them;

- collaboration with one document in the Google Docs service pleased with all students without exception;

Google's Russian division appeared in December 2005. The first employees were first sitting in the Smolensk Passage, and then moved to the third floor of the business center at Balchug, house 7. Then, as the staff expands, part of the staff had to move to Lotte Plaza. As soon as the "Balchug Plaza" freed the square, the team returned. Now the team "Google Russia" occupies the fourth and ninth floors of this office center. It employs about 150 people: engineers, lawyers, accountants, marketers and sales specialists. After work, they have the opportunity to go to yoga, massage or just sleep. The Village visited the company's office and found out how it works there.

Office "Google Russia"

a place: "Balchug Plaza »

the number of employees:150 people

Area: 2500 square meters. meters

opening date:december 2005.

Set of employees

All Google vacancies are published on the site, there is also the opportunity to apply.

The process of hiring to work in the corporation is characterized by the fact that the candidate passes the interview not only with the leader, but also with colleagues. Candidates have to solve non-standard tasks like calculating the number of tennis balls that can fit on the aircraft. There can be no right or improper response - the rate of reaction and approach to the solution is important.

Google has programs for senior students - for three months or more you can come to an internship in any department: legal, marketing, sales. All the resources of the office, including medical insurance, are also provided in the artists.

Work organization

The schedule of employees of the company is strictly not fixed, only the norm of eight working hours is observed. Engineers often work with colleagues from other offices around the world, therefore, if necessary, come late and main work performed on the night.

Each employee can use 20% of working time on its own projects. They should be in a professional plane, but may not have a relationship to direct duties. For example, in his time a post service Gmail appeared.

All new employees tend to train in Dublin, where they are talking about the company's corporate culture. According to employees, she is cool, but you need to get used to it. There is no formal subordination in the company - everyone is mandatory to appeal to each other on "you" and by name. There is no working dress code - you can come at least in slippers, even a barefoot, the restriction is only common sense.

Google is customary to share with colleagues, for this there is a GOOGLER TO GOOGLER system. Every Friday, employees are going to TGIF - informal Friday collections, where they eat and communicate over a glass of wine or beer. Here are new employees and are divided by professional achievements for the week (for example, launching a new product).

Office decoration

Google's office is an openpace. As employees spend a lot of time spent on the tables located in a circle, they have the opportunity to order a transformer table that can be raised and working standing.

When developing the concept of an office, the opinion of the staff, who wanted something local, which will reflect Russian history, so the fourth floor is decorated in the style of Russian fairy tales (however, Soviet films and cartoons come across), the ninth floor is made in the style of the Moscow metro. He was developed by Fedor Razzhevsky from the Offcon Bureau.

The negotiations have the appropriate floor of the floor of the name: on the fourth - "Postman Pechkin", "12 chairs", "Winnie Pooh", on the ninth - the names of the metro station "Pushkinskaya", "Polyanka", "Komsomolskaya", and negotical studio - " Mosfilm. In the meeting rooms there are big plasma screens and phytballs - they can also be sitting at the meeting. If you need to be in silence or talk to Skype, you can use a negotiation per person.

Food in the office

All food in the office is completely free - no cars with coffee or limited amounts for food. On the fourth floor there is a dining room "self-primary" where you can come for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On the table there are constantly different types of dry flakes and muesli, fresh juices, sandwiches.

You can also have a snack in the Lukomorier zone with the image of Baba Yagi on the one hand and a roadside stone from fairy tales - on the other. Here is a coffee machine and trays with snacks - bars, loaf, etc. Many employees adhere to the principles of healthy nutrition, and the company supports it. Colored catchers on food trays provide recommendations on how much per day you can consume a product: green is the most dietary option, yellow and red lot, respectively, the coaline.

Leisure and entertainment

In the Google office, you can spend the night: for this there is a shower and a sleeping place. On the ninth floor there is a gym with motivating Soviet posters and sleep capsule. Through a huge window to the entire wall, a fantastic view of the center of the capital offers a fantastic view.

In the office you can also play video games and table tennis. On the fourth floor there is a zone "Lukomorye". Here come to chat, drink coffee and relax. To do this, there are chess, guitar (they say that somehow the staff even collected at work Band wrote their music and played) and a mini-library. True, not a single artistic book was found in the library - only the olocroprofessional literature and discs with films and TV series Top Gear.

Every week, a teacher in yoga comes to the office - a large negotiable is discharged under classes. The office has a professional massage therapist, however, its services are not free and it is necessary to record on the reception in advance. Those who did not have time to enroll can take advantage of a massage chair in a dark relaxing room.

And everything began very simple: friends-graduate students from the University of Standford - Sergey Brin and Lari Page came to the opinion that a big interest in the Internet resource will increase its third-party links. In the search for this sites they paid attention. True, the creation of Google had to postpone indefinitely, because for its incarnation, a lot of investments were required, and the investors could not find.

Beginning of Google Google and first success

Without losing hope, Sergey and Lari continued to look for investors in order to realize their idea and already in 1998 they had a million dollars. So the company appeared, the name of which looked like a unit and a hundred zerosh - googol. Initially, the search engine worked in test mode at the University Domain. And after a while, already in the beta-test mode, the system has been processed every day more than 10 thousand requests.

The company's growth and its success can be dated 1999, when on a day the number of requests in the search engine has already reached more than one hundred thousand. At the same time, the company owners began to conclude agreements with major world companies (Internet business giants, such as Netscape or Yahoo). The first significant profit in Google's corporation appeared in 2001.

Trade in Google stock exchange

Google's shares first appeared on the stock exchange in 2004. The initial value of securities was 100 dollars. For investors, almost 20 million non-advocated shares became available. Already in 2013, the market capitalization of Google was more than 300 billion dollars. This meant that the corporation was inferior only to such giants as Exxon and Mobil Apple.

The schedule of the Google brand shares is as follows:

Today, Google shares can be used on the largest world stock exchange NASDAQ. For traders there are several types of securities: Class A (Common Shares of Google Issuer) and Class B (the assets of the company's governing link). Founders of Google Corporation - Sergey Bryn and Lari Page Basic shares holders from class V.

If the goal is learned to effectively trade the shares of the world's largest companies and to reach a significant result - you can contact our company and go through qualitative trading of trading. We will be glad to see you in our courses!

Including all of its parts. This separated many young projects, like Calico, Nest and Fiber and incubators, like Google X, from the main core of the company.

But after a small shake, caused by the restructuring, all employees just quietly returned to their duties. The fact is that Google always takes care of his staff, providing employees with many opportunities and stimulating them to stay with the company. Recall, unlike the company Sergey Brina, many Apple employees consider work in the "apple" corporation too tense.

Some former and current Google workers told about what advantages a person receives, working on this company, writes Business Insider.

Free delicacies and endless snacks.

Google employees eat well, get free of charge healthy and varied food for breakfast, lunch, and even for dinner, if you stay late. There are also many non-alcoholic cafes and bars scattered through campuses. It is believed that the advantages that free food gives cannot be overvalued. One of the Google employees commenting on this food privilege, said that she not only saves time and money, but also allows you to better build relationships with colleagues.

Working on Google, you are surrounded by wonderful and smart people.

One of Google employees said that the company turned out to be a great place to meet people reading about which he was grew. "Never in my life I have not met so many people from Wikipedia pages, as last year!" He wrote.

Another employee of Google also responds about colleagues: "We are surrounded by smart and advanced people who create an ideal learning environment. I mean not technical discussions or official trainings, but the work itself with amazing colleagues, not even the most famous. I worked in several other online companies, and was never so motivated and professionally inspired by colleagues as in Google. People are happy to work in this company. They originate from different environments and almost always have an interesting story behind the shoulders. "

In addition to direct contact with IT leaders, company employees often have the opportunity to communicate with invited celebrities.

Google employees feel as if they live in the future.

Since Google is one of the leading technological companies in the world, it is not surprising that its employees are surrounded by the latest technologies. Google employees use the company's products themselves, and also conduct testing products that have not come out yet.

"Chrome was my main browser before it was demonstrated by a wide audience. I used smartphones, tablets and chromebook before they went on sale. It's great. I seem to look at the future, "one of the employees shares his thoughts.

Dogs are happy!

Google employees are allowed to carry out domestic animals. The former employee of the company tells why it was so important for him to drive his dog. According to him, this not only gave him a charge of cheerfulness, but also allowed to communicate more directly with his colleagues, to meet people with whom he would not meet. That's what he speaks about this:

"Sometimes it was difficult to look after the dog between important meetings. But it also meant that every few hours I had to be broken away from work and go out. These walks retained my own energy. In addition, my dog brought a lot of joy to colleagues. Sometimes they searched for her, need for a break. Everyone needs a pause to watch how your dog plays with other pets or chasing the ball. In the end, my dog became better known than I myself. Surprisingly, she introduced me with a huge number of people whom I would never meet. "

Google employees are free from work and to work.

Buses take the company's employees from any place in San Francisco. Thus, people do not need to use their own transport. In addition, the buses are equipped with Wi-Fi, so that passengers can relax or work on the way back to the office.

Technical support for Google employees works around the clock.

In the company there is a department of internal technical support TechStop, which helps employees solve technical problems in the workplace. The department operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. One employee describes TechStop as "an effective solution to simple problems that can be stored. For example, if you forgot the laptop charger, simply contact, and get a new one. "

Free "Massage Credits".

Company employees can transfer "massage loans" to each other in exchange for any help or get them for excellent work performed. One loan can be spent per hour of free massage.

In addition to massages, the company is very loyal to the problems of health care workers. One of the Google engineers describes its experience after injury:

"Traveling over the USA, I got a serious injury. It took three operations and rehabilitation. I could not work for five months. And my bosses, and colleagues reacted with sympathy and understanding, they advised me to focus on recovery. When I went to work again, it was hard for me, but my boss reacted to this with understanding and did not require much. She let me smoothly get into the workflow and continue from the place where I finished. "

The company is worried about the career of workers.
