Olympics presidential library named after Yeltsin. Interactive Olympiad on Russian history and social studies "Russia in the electronic world

Oleg Sergeevich Abramkin, head of the scientific and educational department, talks about the Olympiad "Russia in the Electronic World" for schoolchildren.

In terms of the number of participants, the Olympiad is the largest educational project of the Presidential Library. Thanks to her distance learning method, high school students of all subjects can take part in the Olympiad Russian Federation... The goal of the Olympiad is to draw the attention of schoolchildren to the history of the formation of Russian state power, moral and cultural values, and the upbringing of patriotism. We strive to identify the most gifted young people with humanitarian knowledge, to help them in further career guidance. Prize-winners and winners of the Olympiad have advantages in admission to higher educational institutions in Russia. The organizers created the "Club of the winners, prize-winners and participants of the Olympiad". By becoming a member of the club, schoolchildren will be able to participate in youth information actions of the Presidential Library, advise and suggest new ideas for the development of national electronic resources.

A feature of this Olympiad is that when completing some tasks, participants are looking for necessary materials in the collections of the Presidential Library, thus getting acquainted with our collections: "State Power", "1917", "Textbooks on the History of Russia", "The World of Dostoevsky", "Decembrists in the History of Russia", "Russian Language", etc.

    The tasks of the Olympiad become more complicated from stage to stage and require the participants to:
  • insert the missing word;
  • define the concept;
  • choose an answer option from several offered;
  • solve a crossword puzzle;
  • define source text;
  • get to know the cultural monument;
  • navigate the historical map;
  • establish consistency and compliance;
  • compare texts;
  • translate old Russian text into modern language;
  • determine the modern meaning of individual words.
    Some tasks require detailed answers:
  • writing an essay;
  • writing a dictation;
  • linguistic analysis of the poem;
  • analysis of texts of educational literature of the XIX-XX centuries., texts of sources, images.
    Conducting the Olympiad remotely and using questions different types allows you to achieve the solution of diverse tasks:
  • attracting a large number of schoolchildren;
  • broadening the horizons of students;
  • teaching a research approach to describing phenomena, which involves highlighting different points of view;
  • development of skills in working with electronic resources;
  • acquaintance with the funds of the Presidential Library.

Traditionally, the most difficult tasks for the participants are the tasks of understanding the source text, knowledge of images of cultural monuments and major social and political figures and thinkers, working with a historical map, writing a text on the proposed issue.

For the Olympiad, we developed our own remote knowledge testing system. External experts from among the teachers of leading universities are involved in the development of tasks (they are part of the methodological commissions). The jury of the Olympiad is made up of reputable scientists and teachers.
